"Kalli, get up they're bathing the elephants." Jackson's voice echoes through my head, but I groan and turn away.

"Kalli." Jackson sighs.

Suddenly my legs are being grabbed, and I immediately lunge up and grip him by his throat, baring my canines as my eyes glow searing red.

"K-Kalli!" Jackson gasps in shock, trying to get me off of him.

Immediately realising what I'm doing, I let go of Jackson's throat and stare down at him with wide eyes. The silence is heavy, and I know what he's going to say. For the past week I've been feeling strange, my emotions have been off, and I feel tired, and agitated by everything and everyone. I'm starving too, like constantly starving. Jackson doesn't know about that, he's just seen the mood swings and temper.

"Something is wrong with you." Jackson says softly, right on cue.

"I'll go to the doctor." I whisper, knowing I don't have a choice. I can't risk hurting him like that.

"Do you want me to come?" Jackson offers, sitting on the bed next to me.

I shake my head and lean against him. "No, it's ok, go and bath the elephants, take videos for me."

"I will." He sighs, giving my hand a squeeze before exiting my tent.

We have nine days left before we go home, my parents haven't attacked yet, perhaps they won't. They have until the full moon to attack or the Elders will simply disregard the whole war thing.

After brushing my teeth, I throw my hair into a bun and change my clothes quickly before heading to the doctor they keep on site for emergency's. He's usually never busy, but being in Africa means there's all kinds of animals far smaller than an elephant capable of killing you.

"Hi, is it ok if I come in?" I smile, knocking on the wood of the desk as there's no door.

The male looks up in surprise, nodding. "Of course, just to chat, or do you need a doctor?"

"Doctor." I say with a smile. Nodding, he wheels his chair closer as I sit on the low bed.

"What can I help you with?"

"I've been feeling a bit...funny. Um, mood swings, throwing up, heightened smell...um...I'm starving, like all the time too." I tell him.

He frowns as he listens, nodding his head slowly.

"I think I'm pregnant." I whisper, my throat suddenly feeling raw.

I am scared? Terrified. I hope that I'm not, because I don't think I'm ready to be a mom, and Hardin doesn't want pups, maybe ever. We've barely spoken about it.

"Let's find out shall we?" The doctor offers a comforting smile, tapping my hand slightly as he pulls the machine out from the corner.

I didn't look as he pulls up my t-shirt, I couldn't, not even when he begins pressing the device against the jelly, spreading it around.

I didn't look.

But I heard it, the little heartbeats.

My eyes close immediately as I feel tears spring up, every nerve in my body seeming to freeze for just a brief moment. I wasn't sure if I should be happy that I'm having Hardin's pups, or terrified by his reaction.

What if he doesn't want them?

"You're definitely pregnant, Kalli...with triplets." The doctor confirms what I already heard.

"Do you need a minute?" He asks when I simply sniffle, saying nothing.

Shaking my head, I quickly wipe my eyes and take the tissue he offers me, wiping the gel from my stomach. I sit up and inhale deeply, calming myself down before I have a full on melt down in front of humans.
