I was not in the right frame of mind to be able to make out who the figure was in the dimmed lights, nor did I have the eyesight to be able to complete such a feat. However, I fought down the bile that had long since risen in my throat and started to try to break free from the stunned goblins.
This could be our chance to escape, we just need-
"Take up arms," Gandalf's voice ordered over the groans and moans of the goblins and some dwarves. "Fight... fight!"
I had a feeling the dork of a wizard was not going to take no for an answer, and I wanted blood. They were all going to die, one way or another.
Revenge for what they did to Varis and the revenge for what they did to me fueled my actions and I felt myself slip into a warrior calm and felt no pain.
The dwarves instantly shoved all the goblins off themselves and lunged for their weapons, Bofur getting there first and tossing them to their owners. I uncapped Riptide, which had returned to my pocket with a grin.
Bofur grabbed his hat from the floor, before meeting my grin with one of his own. "Shall we, my Lady?"
My grin turned menacing. "We shall."
"He wields the Foe-Hammer!" the Great Goblin exclaimed, hiding behind his throne at the sight of the wizard's sword. "The Beater, bright as daylight!"
At the sight of Gandalf wielding the famed sword, many goblins fled the scene, but there were still many of them who were shaking off the initial shock and preparing to fight.
I looked over to see Varis holding her ax with the two dwarf princes at her sides, protecting her flanks as Kili made sure she stayed on her feet.
I noticed, in slight glee, that Dwalin had found himself at my side along with Bofur. Dori and Nori were watching over their brother and Thorin hurried over to Gandalf, who was spewing some instructions to the company's leader.
A goblin rushed me, and I recognized it as the goblin who had whipped me with the nine-tails. I grimaced and readied Riptide to defend myself.
Killing the goblin was quick, almost too quick, as I blocked its attack, opening up its neck for a quick slice, cutting off its head.
"Well, Lassie, looks like I shouldna' worry after all," Dwalin spoke, eyeing the headless goblin that collapsed to the ground just after its head landed with a thump.
I grinned at the bald dwarf. "This is hardly my first time, Master Dwarf."
His face twisted into his own blood-thirsty smile. "Glad to hear it."
I watched as the Great Goblin started to gain his bearings back after being terrified for a good few moments, and watched as he started stalking over to where Thorin was. No one was there to protect the King from the oncoming attack.
"Thorin!" I yelled, gaining the dwarf's attention, just in time for the Great Goblin to attack with all its force.
Gritting my teeth, I knew that Thorin was already weakened from fighting off the goblins in the first place and our road so far. He could only handle so much, so I decided to make things easy for him.
