"you know I never liked the sun." Rose loudly complained while crossing her arms. "Oh come on rose! It'll be fun!! Imagine all the fun things we could do. Like, building sandcastles, we can go swimming, get ice cream, and we can fight in the water!" Jade always has the best ideas, well, mostly. Your friends have brought or forced, you to come to a beach and spend a day in the excruciatingly hot sun. "right y/n?" jade snapped Y/n back to reality, literally snapped while she clapped her hands together and stared at you, waiting for a response. "Totally. I can't wait to get sunburned while getting covered in weird jelly." Rose chuckled a little and Jade crossed her arms making a loud 'hmph' noise as she did so.

From the other side of the beach, John and Dave were setting up their area. "john you're staring again." All-day dave had been catching john staring at something in the distance. he never cared nor talked about it but he needed his help now, so he had to care about it. "I'm not staring at anything!" John would start fumbling with the large towel he had brought to set down on the sand. "Besides, even if I was it probably isn't that important." dave readjusted his sunglasses before the both of them put the towel down. "dude, just tell me I won't tell a single soul" john stared at dave before looking over at the water. "I wanted to confess-" "listen, man, listen, if you want to get someone to date you, drop some sick beats. Or yknow, act all smooth and be like "hey babe" john stared at dave, just, stared at him. "that's what bro tells me to do" "I can tell" john would sigh and lays down underneath the shade of the umbrella they had placed earlier and on their towel. "We got the ice cream!" jade, rose, and y/n would all be walking next to each other holding two ice cream
cones.

Jade would be holding them over her head while Rose and Y/n were in a deep conversation. Jade handed Dave a chocolate ice cream cone and they started sharing it. "And- Y/n, there's strawberry ice cream on your nose" John would look over at Y/n, and it was true. there was a smudge of strawberry ice cream on their nose. "Oh, thanks-" John leaned in and kissed the ice cream off of their nose. John and Y/n just stared at each other before john turned around and stared at the waves while eating his ice cream. "Wahh! Rose what the heck!!" Y/n looked over at rose and she had a water gun in her hand pointed at jade. "let's have a war, shall we?" Rose turned the water gun right at Y/n, and before she fired she was hit right on the side of her head by dave. "SCATTER!!" Jade yelled and grabbed Dave's hand as they ran away, while john grabbed Y/n's hand and they ran in the opposite direction.

"John did you even bring a water gun?!" John had run so far away from where they were before so that when he had stopped there were barely any people around them when he had stopped. "Oh.. well this.. might be a problem," John said while looking back at the direction they ran in. Y/n put their hands on their knees and start breathing heavily, while John did the same. Y/n looked over at the waves and noticed that the sun had started setting, john had also noticed. "How about we sit down.. to catch our breath.. you know?" he said each word in between large breaths of air. "Then we can start walking back when we're ready." john would say while he pushed his glasses back upon his face.

"Good idea.. thanks john." Y/n would plop down on the sand next to john, while he also sat down and stared at the waves. "so.. what do you wanna talk about?" Y/n laid down in the sand next to john while staring up at him. "have you ever heard of Conair?" "nope" you lied. rose had told you multiple times about how johns rant about that stupid movie that takes hours and hours to listen to, but you found his rants to be cute so, you never complained. "well it's about this discharged army sergeant named Cameron Poe and he gets charged seven to ten years of prison for killing someone who tried to attack him! and then.." you started zoning out while john was talking to you. Did he always look so.. cute when he was talking about something he was so passionate about? "and then the inmates plane arrives at Carson City and they talk to each.. other.. sorry.. improbably making you bored, huh?" john would look at his hands then out at the waves. "what? john no I love when you ramble! it's so adorable and I like hearing your voice!" Y/n would sit up and stare at john. "now come on it was just starting-" john grabbed your hands and pulled you into a warm kiss, rubbing your hands with his thumbs. his lips were a little dry but you didn't mind. "I TOLD YOU!!" jade yelled from afar "jade not so loud! if they hear us we're done for-" john and y/n turned around and looked at them before y/n started laughing and john started blushing. dave, rose, and jade were all watching the two "DAVE!"
