Steve POV
I was working on a car at the DX when Evie came up to me with a handful of snacks.
"Are you going to take a break anytime soon?" She asked me, "yeah" I answered her, annoyed by her interrupting me while I was trying to finish working on this car.
"Why are you mad at me?" She whined, "I'm not I'm just in the middle of something" "ugh ok" she groaned and sat down.

She started eating whatever she bought and asked me "hey did you know that Soda and Y/n are together? I saw them kissing inside" and laughed.
I paused before answering her, surprised that she knew, "um yeah I did. What's so funny?"
"Oh nothing".

The three of us were leaving work now, and Soda and y/n were talking.
"Hey guys?" I asked, and they answered "yeah?". "Did you guys do something in front of Evie? Because she knows about your relationship" I told them and y/n sighed.
"Uh yeah she heard us talking" Soda said and I nodded, "yeah she mentioned it to me, you know she has, and not to be a shit boyfriend or anything but, a big mouth, right? Out of all of the people you could've slipped up in from of, she was not the one to" I explained to them. Y/n was not appreciative of my comment, and groaned after hearing it.
"We'll have to beat her to the punch I guess, tell everyone sooner than we had planned to" she said, making her and Soda both sigh.

I felt bad for them, I didn't want my girlfriend to be the reason that they have to rush to tell people about their relationship. She can really be a pain in the ass sometimes.

We walked back to my house and my parents had actually come home. I rubbed y/n's shoulder, trying to comfort her and let her know that it was going to be ok.

At least, I hoped it would.

We walked into the house and could heard my parents talking from another room, and y/n ran to her room with Soda chasing after her. I just sighed and shook my head, walking to the outside of her door and leaning inward trying to listen to what they were saying. I couldn't make out any of it though, and then the door suddenly opened and they walked out.
"You guys good?" I asked them, standing in the hallway, "yup!" y/n said and smiled, but I could tell it was forced.

We went to the living room to hang out and my parents eventually came into the room and noticed us.
"Hey mom, dad" I said to them, "hi Steve!" My mom said happily and gave me a hug "I missed you! It's been so long", "yeah" I replied.

I knew it was all a facade, my parents never acted this happy to see me.

"Hey son" my dad said, "hi".
I wasn't as happy to see him. I really wasn't all that thrilled that they were back, actually.

"Hi y/n and Soda! How are y'all?" Mom greeted the other two, "good" "better" they answered.
I decided to get the part about y/n staying here out of the way, just so she'd stop stressing about it.

But I knew that the sooner my parents knew about it, the worse things would get for me.

"Oh yeah so mom, dad, is it ok with you guys if  y/n stays here in the guest room for a while?" I finally asked them and they gave me a strange look.
"Now why would she do that?" My mom asked me, "I don't exactly, have anywhere else now" y/n explained to them, looking down.
"Oh, well, I guess so, sure, you can stay here" my mom responded, not wanting to sound completely heartless, but I'm sure she didn't really want another teenager in her house. And shocker, my dad said nothing in reply.

I knew that that wasn't good.

"Thank you so much, I really appreciate it" she thanked them, and then my mom practically kicked us out of the house for the afternoon.

Once we were out the door, y/n let out a large sigh of relief.
"Well that was pretty good" Soda started to say to her to try and keep her calm.
"Yeah I'd say that that went pretty well".
I wasn't really listening to them, I could only think about my father's silence.
That meant that this probably wasn't going to end well for me.

But as long as my parents allowed y/n to stay at the house, I would my best to not have a problem with them.

Soda POV
I was glad that Steve's parents were ok with
y/n staying there, I was so worried for her.
She was the most worried I had probably ever seen her in my life, besides when her family came for her half a year ago.

I had a feeling in my gut that she was going to break down from all of the stress she's been under recently, but she surprisingly was able to hold herself together.
It was unbelievable to me how well she did that.

We all walked back to my place to hang out there, and all of the events from today replayed in my mind. Evie finding out about us, she's probably going to tell a shit ton of people, which is what    y/n is afraid of. Specifically, Dally finding out and getting angry.

She better not tell anyone like she had promised us, because I don't want Dallas to do something to y/n.

He'll be dead if he tries.

But all I can do for now is comfort y/n.
She's more fragile now than before from their relationship.
Because of Dallas.

I'm going to try and protect her for as long as I possibly can.
