Chapter 16: When things couldn't get any worse

Chapter 16

Alakai's POV

We all agreed on allowing Scarlett have the day off. I was a little on the fence about it because i wanted to be near her at all times just in case another attack happened. But i guess its better this way. She is resting safely in the hotel room while i can keep an eye on those pesky Zinthovas. Right now, I'm filling in for Scarlett by standing outside the boys' dressing room, waiting for them to finish getting dolled up for the concert.

"Hey, Adam!" Paul called. (A/N just a reminder, 'Adam' is Alakai's human name). "Go ahead and help set up the stage. I think there's some girls trying to sneak in again. I'll watch over the boys for now."

I felt something different from Paul; like something was off.

"Is there a problem?" He asked as i scrutinized him for a while longer.

"No," I said hesitantly. "everything's fine. I'll just...go to the stage then." He nodded in response as i cautiously made my way past him. Something is wrong. I know it. I made my way to the stage and did a quick scan. A few regular crew members were setting up the equipment and i noticed a crowd of females starting to form.

I took my position and blocked the entrance so none of them would try to sneak in. I took another look at the stage and noticed there was a big thing missing....the Zinthovas. I searched frantically to see if i could even get a glimpse of one of them around.

"H-Hey!! GET OFF OF US!"

"LET GO!"

Shit. They're after the boys!! Scarlett will kill me if i let anything happen to them. Just as i was about to run toward the direction of the screams, the girls began pushing their way through, nearly trampling over me.

Dammit! I can't get to them if these girls keep this up!

"PUT US DOWN!"

I looked up to find all 5 boys being dragged/carried away by the Zinthovas. 1, 2, 3, 4......wait. Where's Kalona?

Aw fuck. He's with Scarlett!!! I struggled to keep my balance as the humans continue to try to push me down. Each of the Zinthovas smirked at my predicament as they all calmly walked away, disappearing into a shadow-like portal. I growled to myself and charged straight for the portal, right before it could vanish. I didn't care that thousands of girls started piling into the building. I was just about to reach it, feet away from passing through.

I leaped into the air, almost reaching my destination. But the second i was within centimeters, it disappeared, causing me to fall flat on my face.

"Dammit!" I jumped to my feet and rushed outside, trying to push my way through the screaming girls. I have to get to Scarlett. I thought to myself.

Scarlett's POV

"What are you doing here?" I said cautiously while searching for a way to fight him without this towel falling off.

"Just here to see how my good ol' friend was healing up."

"Oh cut the crap, Kalona! You know damn well how i'm doing. Now why are you really here?"

He chuckled amusingly and tossed the hairdryer back and forth between his hands. "You really should've come to work today. You might've been able to prevent your little friends from getting hurt."

My eyes widened and i ended up finding myself pinning Kalona to the wall, clutching the collar of his shirt. "Where. Are. They." I growled through clenched teeth. 

He, however, kept a calm face and shrugged. "Somewhere far away from here. Oh but don't worry, they're safe....for now." 

"Who the hell do you think you're dealing with?" I slammed him against the wall once again, leaving a small dent in the cement. "If you lay a finger on ANY of them, I swear i-"

"You'll what?" He smirked with a knowing look in his eyes. 

"I will tear your head off and force you to eat the guts i've ripped out of your body."

"Ohh. A little violent there, don't you think?" He pushed me away from him, causing me to grab onto my towel that was about to fall to the ground. He reached behind him and pulled out a small, purple orb with black, shadow-y clouds circulating inside. "You wanna know where they are so badly? Then take a look."

I stepped closer to the mysterious orb as the clouds began swirling inside, creating a picture. It showed the boys of One Direction all on the ground of a barren area, fearing what will happen to them. The Zinthovas were circling them while checking around to make sure no one would be there to witness what will happen.

"Let us go! Scarlett will be here any second to save us!"

"Oh shut up, would ya?!" One of them said while smacking Louis in the face. A red mark started to take place on his cheek as he spit out a bit of blood. With that, the clouds shrouded the sight within the orb and went back to its regular state. 

My blood boiled at the sight of them getting hurt. 

"Take me to them...NOW!" I boomed.

"On one condition." He took a step towards me, tilting his head down and placing a hand on my cheek. "You....become mine." 

"In your dreams, scumbag." I flicked his arm away, only to have him slap me on my cheek creating a burning sensation on my face. I held in a groan as pain emanated throughout my mouth and numbness starting to take place. Kalona then grabbed me by the towel, nearly ripping it off, and pulled me closer to him. I struggled under his hold, noticing how strong he had become. 

He placed two fingers under my chin and lifted my face up to look at him. The strange mist began to form in his mouth again as he inched his way to my mouth. I pinched my lips together and continued to make my attempt to get out of his grasp.

Just as he was about to make contact with my lips, I felt his body fly away from me and make a large crashing noise against the wall. I opened my eyes and turned to see where that blast had came from. To my relief, Alakai was standing in the doorway with electricity sparking at his fingertips.

"Stay the hell away from her!" He pounced on his chance to attack Kalona as they began to battle it out in the small room. It was easy to say that they were evenly matched.

I fell to the ground as a lightning blast from Alakai almost hit me. I needed to help him. I can't just sit here and watch him get torn to shreds. I quickly threw on some shorts, still wearing the towel across my chest and flew up to join the fight. 

I punched Kalona square on the jaw and dodged a low-blow kick that he aimed at Alakai. We continued to have a 2 on 1 battle in the air....that was, until Kalona used the tentacles of darkness to sneak behind Alakai and I and give us a bone numbing electric shock. 

I screamed out in pain as i felt the venom pass through my body. We both fell to them ground and spasmed at the stinging feeling that paralyzed us completely. 

I managed to glance at Alakai who was looking at me as well.

"Are you ok?" He mumbled. I gave a slight nod as i felt my eyes begin to droop. 

"Great. Now that that's over." Kalona said, landing on the ground and brushing himself off. "The venom should wear off in a few hours. Here's where we're keeping the boys...if you even care." He dropped a small device on Alakai's body then made his way towards me. "And you, my dear. You're finally gonna get what you deserve."

He placed a hand under my neck and lifted my head up to get closer to his face. The mist started to form once again between his lips. I was screaming at my body to get up and do something. But i couldn't move. I was practically nailed to the ground and i couldn't do anything to stop him. My lips were already parted, my body lay motionless. I had no control over what he was about to do next. And its pretty obvious what had happened......

He kissed me.
