Chapter 12

Alakai's POV

I can tell Scarlett was lying when she hung up. She just didn't want me to have to worry about her. And having those boys stick around her is not going to be any help. I can't let her risk her own life just to protect ours. I know what i have to do.

I ordered my servants to retrieve all the proper necessities needed for my little trip. I could just send the team down, but I think it would be a lot easier for me to go alone. Besides, I'm sure Scarlett would be more than happy to see me.

I piled all the needed equipment into one of our ships. I decided to use one of the newer models just so i could get to earth sooner. I should arrive in about a few hours. My voice was already altered to the earthling's language so that was one less thing i had to worry about. I changed my appearance to blend in with the humans. I now have 'dirty blonde' hair, 'natural tan', and the same blue eyes but in a lighter shade. I began to skim through the information about the inhabitants of earth to pass the time, hoping to gain at least a little bit of knowledge of this new place. No way am i going to let Scarlett take the Zinthovas on her own.

***A few hours later***

"Touchdown in ten minutes" the computer said. I turned the invisibility shields on as the body of water came into view. I prepared myself as i got closer and closer with every second. Just as i was about a few feet from impact, i hit the self destruct button and ejected out of the ship. Seeing as i wasn't able to fly because i only had control over lightning, the chair i was sitting in had to rocket and carry me to shore. I landed in a secluded forest where i unstrapped myself from the seat and proceeded to use the morpher to provide me with the proper clothing. Once i finished packing up my weapons, i destroyed any form of evidence from my planet.

Using the tracker, i walked toward the direction in which Scarlett was in. It brought me to this tall building that i presume to be a 'hotel'. I walked up to the woman who seemed to be in charge.

"Excuse me," I began. "Where may i find Scarlett Pierce?" The woman looked up at me and grinned, fluttering her eyelashes as she spoke.

"Are you her spouse? Or boyfriend?"

"Um no. I am just her fr- i mean brother." It would be easier if the woman thought i was related. She wouldn't give me Scarlett's whereabouts if i was just her 'friend'.

"Oh, i see." Her grin grew wider as she scrolled through the computer. "What's your name?"

"Adam. Adam Pierce."

"Well, Adam, your sister is in room 22 736. The elevators are over there." She pointed in the direction of the elevators and leaned forward. "Now if you need anything at all," she lowered her voice and slid a piece of paper and a card toward me. "just give me a call and i'll help you out."

I nodded awkwardly and walked to the elevators. I pushed the 'up' button and stepped inside the small room when the doors slipped open. Seeing as the buttons only reached from 4 to 33, i assumed i had to press the 22nd button. The room slowly moved upward until it brought me to a new location. I walked around and skimmed though the hallways trying to find the number that matched the card. Finally i arrived at the right door. I didn't sense Scarlett or anyone else inside. I guess she must've left before i got here. Might as well just wait for her.

I turned the knob after inserting the card and closed the door behind me. I took in my surroundings, checking to make sure everything was safe. Looks like im going to be waiting for a while. i sat on the couch for a few hours until i felt Scarlett's presence slowly getting closer. Soft voices were coming from the door. I'm guessing she wasn't alone? I made my way to the door as it fell silent on the other side. I swung it open and saw Scarlett leaning extremely close to a familiar looking boy.
