Chapter 21: Mission Accomplished?

Chapter 21

Louis's POV

"Louis..."

I stared down in disbelief; my eyes wide as my grin stretched across my entire face.

"Scarlett...Oh my god Scarlett!!" I was ecstatic; so incredibly filled with joy. I wasted no time in pulling her into a tight hug, molding her body into mine as tears started to roll down my cheeks. 

She's alive... She's still alive.

I can feel her heart beating in our embrace. The warmth of her body spreading into mine as i held her close. I couldn't stop myself from crying or repeatedly whispering over and over that shes alive. It's a miracle. 

Scarlett faintly chuckled as i hugged her tight, her body still too weak to return it. "Good to be back."

It wasn't long before Alakai and the other boys joined in to our little embrace; crushing us with hugs of their own while greeting Scarlett with different variations of "Welcome back" and "You're alive!"

"Uh guys.." She mumbled. "You know i love you and that im happy to see that you're all happy. But do you think you can help a previously deceased girl out by letting me breathe?" 

We all stepped away from her, chuckling to ourselves as we let her have some space. She slowly got herself to sit upright, groaning silently as she did so. I sat myself beside her, still giddy to have my girl back. 

"So.. Anyone wanna tell me what happened while i was gone?" She asked casually.

I shrugged my shoulders. "oh you know. Not much. Except for the fact that i totally kicked Kalona's butt!" i declared loudly, causing her and the others to chuckle. "I can proudly say i had the guy pretty whipped."

Alakai cleared his throat, giving me a look once he got my attention.

"Oh yea... with a little help from Alakai too.." I added timidly. Scarlett shook her head and rolled her eyes, smiling at my silliness.

"Even though i did do most of the work," Alakai added, "Louis did a pretty decent job at finishing off Kalona."

"Did..did i just get praised by Alakai?" I jokingly said in disbelief. "I think Scarlett hit you a little hard in the head."

"Don't make me take back my compliment." He replied, everyone else just laughing at us.

"Yea about that.." Scarlett scratched the back of her neck a bit embarrassedly. "Sorry if i hurt anyone earlier. I wasn't in control of myself and I didn't really have a clear head. Kalona was the one who controlled me and--"

"Its alright." I interjected. "You're forgiven. We know it wasn't really you who was trying to kill all of us." Scarlett smiled at me and leaned her head on my shoulder, letting out a breath of relief. 

"Well alright then!" Alakai said with a clap of his hands. "I think we should gather up whats left of the Zinthova's bodies and wait for the ship to get here and pick us up."

"Ok" Scarlett replied with a nod. The boys nodded as well and followed Alakai to help collect the remnants of the bodies. 

"Wait what?" I grabbed Scarlett's arm as she was attempting to stand up. "What did he just say?"

"He said he wants to pick up the bodies."

"No no..After  that. He said the ship was gonna pick "us" up." 

Scarlett looked away for a moment; sadness flashing through her eyes.

"Are you leaving with him?" I whispered in disbelief.
