Chapter 19

 Louis's POV

"Well what are you waiting for, you little runt? Let's finish what we started." Kalona taunted.

"Alright. Listen up." Alakai mumbled as he got into his stance. "Do not try to fight him at the same time i am. You're inexperienced and you'll only get in the way. Just attack when there's an opening, don't do anything else. Got it?"

I rolled my eyes and nodded. "Got it."

"Good." Without another word, Alakai rocketed up towards Kalona and punched him dead on the face. I watched as he dodged and blocked every single hit fired at him. It wasnt until Alakai was tossed to the side when i decided to fly up and take my turn to battle.

I attempted to kick Kalona in his stomach but failed miserably as he easily grabbed my leg and threw me. I managed to catch myself by flying but saw that Alakai had already taken his spot to fight.

Jeez...i cant keep up with them. They're trained martial artists and im just...here.

I looked to the ground and saw some stray spikes that were left from Reidan's attacks. I cautiously began to levetate them and aim them toward that demon. Keeping my eyes focused, i shot all of them at once, managing to only cut Kalona's clothing.

"Ha! Nice try, pop star. Work on your aim next time." With that, he shot dark threads at me, following my trail as i flew away. For a split second, he was distracted, giving Alakai the chance to give a strong punch at his stomach.

I heard him release a loud grunt before clutching onto his injury. Alakai then round-house kicked him in the jaw, allowing a large distance be put between them. I took the opportunity to once again levetate the spikes and shoot them towards Kalona.

This time, i managed to cut into his skin, allowing beads of blood to slowly drip out. Charging towards him, I clung onto his shirt and tugged in a downward motion to knee him in the groin. While he fumbled forward, bent up in pain, i noticed an object fall out from his pocket. I squinted, attempting to get a glimpse of what it was.

I heard Kalona mutter 'shit' as he pushed me aside and shot a tentacle to catch it. Alakai was able to grab him in a strangling position before he was able to retrieve the object. I flew down closer to get a better look. It turned out to be the orb that he had before. Why would this be important? From what i saw it only acts as a portal.

"GIVE THAT TO ME YOU LITTLE -- "

My head whipped around and saw Kalona flying full-speed at me with a dangerous look of determination in his eyes. I nearly trembled as his dark aura emanated from his body. I quickly snatched the orb from the ground and ran, hoping he wouldn't be able to catch up. I didn't dare look back. I could sense Kalona gaining on me, increasing his speed little by little.

Thankfully, Alakai tackled him into the ground, creating a deep dent in the pavement. Dirt and dust rose up from the impact, creating clouds to surround them. I heard punches and grunts and saw bolts of lightning flying out. I couldn't help but watch cautiously, hoping to see Alakai walk out of the rubble victoriously.

I scanned my surroundings. The dirt clouds cleared up, revealing two master fighters brawling to the death; my friends were still lying on the ground, paralyzed from Kalona's previous attack; the rest of the Zinthovas were tossed everywhere in their pools of blood; and lastly, Scarlett still laid motionless on the floor, all the color drained from her body. You could no longer see the rise and fall of her chest or see her eyelashes fluttering.

I flew over to her, gently touching her face and flinching at her coldness. I felt tears pricking my eyes as i stared at her. The hole in her chest was no longer sputtering out blood. It had all ran out from all the damage done on her. The color, red, lined every inch of her pale body.
