•┈┈┈••✦𝓐 𝓗✦••┈┈┈┈•After the chaotic events at the World Cup and an unsettled sleep after, Audrey had planned to take a few days off work. Unfortunately her superiors didn't think of that as a great idea. She was the new girl, the one who had to do all the work while others took credit for it, but she wasn't allowed to complain because she had to work her way up.
After the death eater attack, a lot of muggles seemed to have noticed the glowing dark mark in the sky, as well as the fires that had burned quite a few tents off. Despite the change in location, they couldn't completely get rid of the muggles.
A busy day at work was ahead of Audrey, trying to catch hold of muggles and wiping their memories. That wasn't even the worst part about her job, it was the filing that came after that.
Percy was suddenly busy with the details of the Tri-Wizard tournament. They had to make sure that everyone arrived safely and the events laid out smoothly. He was also not supposed to disclose anything to his family which was rather tough when he was trying to gain their praise.
There was a sudden bang on his table which caused him to jump. A pile of files were placed on top of his desk, and a rather bored looking brunette standing behind them.
"Let me guess," He sighed, "the change of location didn't help the muggles"
Audrey chuckled, "It would've worked if those damn death eaters didn't ruin everything"
"At this point, I myself don't remember half the events of that night, it was complete chaos" Percy said as Audrey sat down across from him.
"You don't even want to remember that chaos" Audrey chuckled.
No words were exchanged between the two after that. They both just kept each other company and did their own work, trying to get it done as soon as possible.
There was something about being in Audrey's presence that just made Percy'a mood lighten up. It was as if she radiated happy vibes or some sort of good energy.
Because of that, Percy didn't even realize how time flew as the both worked silently. His eyes flickered to the clock which read 30 minutes past 6. With a sigh, Percy closed his file, done filling out the paperwork, and carefully placed his quill back in its holder.
Audrey too closed her filed and looked up at him, "going home?"
"Before Crouch catches me and gives me extra work to do" Percy rolled his eyes. "I'll take all of this home and finish it"
"I'm going to the pub with my friends, do you want to join us?"
"I can't, I've got family dinner." Percy told her, "Bill and Charlie are leaving tomorrow and Mum wants all of us to sit together and eat dinner as a family before they do"
"That's rather nice" She told him, "I guess we can catch up another time"
Percy and Audrey collected all their files and ink pots before bidding each other goodbye. Audrey picked up her file only to realize it wasn't hers. She turned to where Percy was last standing only to find out he has apparated and taken one of her files with him.
Percy reached home to a full and bustling house. Even though Percy was exhausted, he enjoyed the crowd in the house. He barely got to see Bill and Charlie and he always missed their presence.
He walked in to see Molly and Arthur laying the table, Bill and Charlie talking at the other end, Ginny, Ron, Hermione and Harry were laughing about something, and Fred and George being themselves. This scene at the Burrow brought him peace, they were all there, all safe, all happy. At the same time, Percy felt odd, he felt left out in his own family.
