(Harry's Pov)

Harry wandered around the halls of Hogwarts. It had been hours since he and Dragon parted. Harry didn't even bother trying to sleep.

Harry didn't really have a set destination in mind. He considered going outside, because it was warm enough that he wouldn't have to go back to his dorm to get his robe. But Harry didn't feel like leaving the castle.

While on his walk, Harry happened to pass by the hospital wing. The lights were on. Odd. It was the middle of the night.

Harry decided to go see if anything was wrong. Probably because if there was anything wrong, there was a 99% chance that it was part of a plot to kill him.

Harry crossed the thresh hold of the medical center, to see Madame Pomphrey sitting in her private study reading a book. Madame Pomphrey looked up at the sound of Harry's shoes squeaking on the shiny, black and white tiled floor.

Immediately, the witch got up and rushed over to Harry, with a pissed off expression on her face. When Madame Pomphrey reached Harry, she crushed him in a tight hug that squeezed all the air out of his lungs.

Right when Harry thought he'd pass out from lack of oxygen, the gray haired woman pulled back and studied Harry at arm's length.

"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?" Madame Pomphrey demanded.

"Um, in the school?"

"DO YOU KNOW HOW WORRIED I'VE BEEN?!"

"Worried? Why were you worried?"

"BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T SHOW UP ON THE FIRST NIGHT OF SCHOOL!!!"

"Oh. I forgot."

"You just forgot? After 5 years of tradition you just forgot? I thought you didn't come because it might have been so bad that you didn't want me to see the damage!"

"But Poppy, I live with Remus and Sirius now. I'm legally an adult. I don't have to live with my Aunt and Uncle anymore. So I'm perfectly fine. I didn't come to see you, because I'm in good health."

Every year, since second year, Harry had come to Madame Pomphrey on the first night he spent at Hogwarts. Madame Pomphrey, or Poppy as he had taken up calling her, always tended to whatever injuries he acquired during the summer.

But wizard magic could only do so much. There were still scars. Scars that never left Harry's back. Harry liked to ignore them, protect they didn't exist. He went to lengths to not think of them. And he had gotten to the point where he usually didn't think of them, unless he was reminded of them.

He had spells. Spells and charms that covered up his back and made it look normal. The charms were extremely strong. Even when Harry had woken up as a veela he hadn't seen his scars. Despite all the pain he had been in during the transformation, Harry's spells did not waver. They were special enchantments whose nature was that once cast, no effort or concentration had to be used to keep them up, the spells would hold, until effort and concentration were put into casting the counter-spells.

"Yes, Jarry, I'm well aware of your new living arrangements. But I also know that you came into your creature inheritance over the summer, so I thought that you might come in because of that!"

"How'd you know that I came into my creature inheritance?" asked a puzzled Harry.

"First of all, I knew your father. He got his creature inheritance when he turned 17. You didn't get yours at 17, so I wasn't sure when you'd come into your veela inheritance. The way I knew you had gotten it over the summer, is because all the teachers were notified."

"Wait. All the teachers know?"

"Well not all of them. Just like with Remus, and with your father, when a wizard with...um...complications, comes to school, they're harmless most of the time, but in certain circumstances they could be deadly. Teachers have a right to know that they could potentially be injured at their job. Teachers are asked if they'd be ok teaching, or in my case healing, a werewolf, or veela, or whatever it is that is coming to school. They are not told who the individual is, only that there is one, and that they have a choice whether they're comfortable teaching a student with that complication. The teachers who agree, (which in all my years of working here has been all of them,) are told who the individual with the complications are. If any teacher said they weren't comfortable teaching a student with the complications, then the headmistress would hire a part time teacher, who would be comfortable with it, to teach the class the student is in."

"So then all the teachers know? Because you said that all the teachers usually agree to teach the person?"

"Yes, but the only teachers who were told that there would be a student with complications, are the teachers who would teach you. For example, you're not taking muggle studies, right? So none of the muggle studies teachers even know that there's a veela at Hogwarts."

"Hmm. Okay," Harry said, still not that happy with the fact that all the teachers he had as a teacher, knew about his inheritance. The less people who knew that the Harry Potter was a veela, the better.

Harry Potter stayed for a couple more hours, chatting and catching up with Madame Pomphrey. It was nice having an older woman fuss over him, and demand that he eats and sleeps properly. To have someone who genuinely cares about his health.

Not that he didn't have anyone other than Poppy. He also had Remus and Sirius, but beat her of them could fit the role of a mother figure. He had Mrs. Weasley, but Harry hadn't seen her in a very long time. He didn't want to face her. Not when her son's death was one of the many deaths on his young shoulders.

After a couple hours, Harry went back to his dorm rooms to get ready for the day, even though it was about an hour before the other Gryffindors in his dorm room would wake up. Once again, Harry hadn't gotten a wink of sleep.

A/N: This was not a cliffhanger! Yayy! So I know that this chapter was in no way as long as my chapters usually are, but I just wanted to get something out there. My schedule for updating this fic has been practically nonexistent, but with this chapter, we'll be back to my usual updating schedule. So yeah.
