Recap (because it's been awhile.) (you can skip this if you want) : Harry is a veela. He's annoyingly oblivious. Draco is a ferret. He wants to break his mother out of Azkaban with Blaise. Pansy's helping too, to make sure the two idiots don't get themselves killed. Harry and Draco have been meeting in secret in the middle of the night in an attempt to get to know each other, Harry doesn't know who Draco is though (see the obvious part now?).

(Draco's POV)

If Draco got changed into ONE MORE DAM COLOR, he was going to flood this whole damn place-of-torture-disguised-as-a-school, with everyone inside it. He was tHiS close to snapping.

Draco was in transfiguration, where they had a sort of "study hall but not really". The class had just had a really challenging exam, so they had an easy day today, where they could practice simple charms. The golden trio had picked a color changing charm. They started changing everything in sight to random, bright colors.

Well that's how it had started. With the golden trio, as all trouble always starts.

Soon, it had spread to everyone. It was kind of like magical paint ball. Everyone was shooting color-changing hexes at random things, until not one thing in the room was its original color. Including a very peeved, once-white ferret.

Draco glared at the scarred holy-one himself. But then, all of a sudden, something happened.

It happened so quick Draco barely caught it. So speedy was this event, that Draco didn't think anyone else had seen it.

There was a green puff of smoke. A dim, discreet black flash, and suddenly, there was something on the table. Right in front of Harry. Draco couldn't make out what it was, until Harry picked it up.

It seemed to be a card. A black card. It blended in so easily with the black desk, Draco wouldn't have known it was there, if not for its dramatic arrival.

Harry quickly gave a glance around the room, as if to check if anyone was paying any attention to him, before swiftly opening the mysterious card. From Draco's point of view, he couldn't make out what was written on the card, just that it was written in white, and that there didn't seem to be much text. Only a few words, written quite small.

After receiving no more than a quick glance at its message, the card was whisked away into the pockets of Harry James Potter's robes, just as quickly as it had appeared.

Draco studied Harry's face to try and figure out what kind of a message the card held.

Draco didn't detect any surprise on Harry's features, which was odd, as you'd think one would be shocked, if an ominous, black card appeared, out of nowhere, in front of one.

Harry also seemed to have a pinch of curiosity about him. Curiosity that Draco, and the whole school, knew, got Harry into trouble constantly.

But most of all, Harry appeared to just be tired. Like he just didn't want to deal with whatever it was, today. Harry looked like he wanted to take a nap and ignore everything. A feeling Draco was well acquainted with.

Draco spent the rest of class—and hell, let's be honest—the day, pondering that small event that couldn't have taken any more than two minutes from start to end, but which he felt held importance.

He debated whether or not to ask Harry about it at their next meeting, that very night. He wasn't sure if he wanted to know. Did Draco Malfoy really want to get wrapped up in whatever was going on with the chosen-one, this year? Not really. He already had enough going on as it was.

But still. Draco couldn't help but wonder what was the deal with the sketchy, black card...

(Harry's POV)

Ah shit. Another card.

That made 28 since he came to school.

Who were they from? Was the sender being serious about what they said? Harry hoped not.

But if they were true...

NO.

Stop it. They probably weren't. It was probably just a prank.

But if they were true, should he tell someone?

No. He'd be fine. He'd done a great job so far keeping them a secret from everyone so far, and keeping them out of his mind too.

It had taken effort to ignore such blatantly horrible messages. To pretend they didn't exist and forget about them.

What would be the point of all that, if he were to go off now, tell someone, and start a panic? Especially when it was probably nothing.

Right? Right.

Harry gulped.

(A/N) : so, uh, hi. *waves nervously* It's now Sunday, July 18th, 2021. So, I may have overshot my deadline for the next update, by...oh...you know...*mumbles* four months.

😬

*inserts amazing excuse that makes you all forgive me*

oh wait. I don't have one.

I really have no good reason for being gone so long. I was going through some stuff. I still kind of am, but I'm back anyways.

I hope you can forgive me. In the time I've been M.I.A. a lot of people have come and read this fanfic, and I salute all of you. I can't even tell you how many notifications I've gotten for people adding this book to a reading list. Thanks to all you amazing people. You are all part of the reason I'm back. There's one person in particular though, who read through my whole book in one day, today, and left a lot of comments. They are the main reason that I put myself together, and squeezed out this chapter. Oh and they are CozHolly . Phew. I almost forgot to mention their name lol

If most of my readers don't return because it's just been so long since they read the rest of this fanfic, I understand. It's ok. I know I probably lost readers through not updating, and I don't blame anyone who abandoned this fanfic.

Before I go, I just wanna say that I don't intend to disappear again. I know this chapter is shorter than my usual chapters are, but I really just wanted to get something out there and published, after such a long gap. I promise more updates will come. You may not believe me on that, but I will try to gain back all of your trust, by continuing to update.
