NICK'S POV

It was after a Sunday morning service, I was in one of the empty church seats... still mourning the disappearance of my best friend's daughter; who was, also, very much like my own child.

The church had been filled with, at least, 20-30 people that morning... the numbers were WAY more than normal... It was as if some extraordinary shift had happened inside of the spiritual realm.

Of course, this took an exceptional amount of energy from me, but in a good way.

However, I was confused about that morning... was this just a one time thing?

Would those people come back in search for God?

...Or... was this God's first step in helping me move on from my days of misery?

I was never sure...

"Nick, dear?" Martha walked into the room.

"Look, hon, someone blessed us today with some cream and coffee beans."
She said, gesturing to the two cups of bitter coffee she held.
"And Casandra made some muffins... can you believe this?!"

She rejoiced, for these treats used to be common luxury's... but were, now, rare treasures.

"I can see it, Martha... but I cannot see my darling friend's daughter."

Martha kept silent, feeling the atmosphere change from light to dark.
"The mood is dark... far too dark for a church."

She handed me the cup of coffee.

"There is no such thing as 'Too Dark' when living the life of a Christian. There are demons everywhere, all bent on destroying you."

"Well... there were no demons this morning."

"Huh?"

"Look around you, hon. (Y/n) may be gone, but you still have the rest of your family, the church was filled today, God has provided."

...

...

...

"Nick, look at me."
I started to tear up at the feeling of my wife's hand under my chin.
"This is the day... the time which He has prepared for you to be liberated from this. Of course I miss little (Y/n)... but if we hold onto the past... we can never get to the future. We don't know why she was taken... all we know is that God is with her. Something has happened, something great... I'm not sure what, but I know. Heck... just last week we had about 7 people in these chairs... today... nearly all of the chairs were filled! Thank God... and mourn no more. Nick...be still, and know that He's God."

Martha watched in tears as I placed down the coffee and sobbed into her robe, slowly, slowly trying to overcome the demons of regret and sadness.

The crying went on and on... until I could feel the wind pick up from through the window.

A large wind swept through the church, the wind feeling as though it were a hand from the Almighty God... beckoning me forward.

Martha and I watched as the gentle, but harsh wind traveled towards the front door and opened it just a little.

With a quick glance at one another, I stood and walked to the door... only to stop halfway there... at the sound of a knock... to which I rushed to grab the handle.

What laid behind those doors was an answer to all my questions...

An answer to (Y/n)'s whereabouts...

A great deal of pain...

But also... a great deliverance...
