AUTHOR'S POV

"You know, Eren. I couldn't help but notice how uncomfortable you made that girl. So much so that she ran off."

The three soldiers made their way to the infirmary tent.

"Hey! She only ran off because... agh... I don't even know..."

Mikasa raised her eyebrow at her adoptive brother.

"Fine! You win!"

"SIGH...I knew it. Eren you can't keep pressuring people to distract then from asking anything about how you failed during the trost mission-"

"We lost the whole of Wall Rose because of me, Mikasa! ... I wouldn't expect you to understand... your an Ackerman and, just like the Captain, you are better than everyone at everything."

Before Armin could reach up his hand to comfort his friend, Eren took off to the tent in a sprint...

"He isn't lucky that the government is still hateful towards him... but, then again, he's lucky they even allow him to be alive."

"We can't worry about that now, Armin. We have to get everything ready, go double check if the guards are in place."

"I thought the Captain did that already..."

"Hm...I'm sure he grew tired half way. His little legs can't get him that far, go check once more."

"Why do you need to hate him? Why can't you just... forgive him?"

TIMESKIP

The dead of night, the time people confuse with the witching hour at 3am, the time where (throughout the month of october) followers of the evil one sacrifice a person at the strike of 12.

And, apparently, also the time where you're woken up with a knock.

BANG!
BANG!
BANG!

Your head shot up off your pillow as your commandant walked in.

"Get up, put your uniform on and get to the infirmary tent."

"I'm...gah!... already in my uniform."

You said while stretching.

"What?"

"No one gave me proper clothes, just a uniform. Anyways..."

You climbed out of bed with a yawn and a clack of your boots.

"YAWN... what's going on?"

"You'll find out."

He turned around and walked ahead of you, but all you could do was turn around and stare at the rest of the girls in the cabin... still sleeping... being ignored.

'What is this?'

As you walk on with your commandant, someone called from down the halls behind you.

"Commandant!"

You both turn to see a young man running up to his colleague with papers.

"These are the documents, they need your signature, Sir."

"Can't this wait?"

"Afraid not, sir. The Survey Corps leave this day."

"Hm..." the commandant locked eyes with you before picking up the pen while his colleague held the ink tub.

You waited for them to finish by leaning on the closest wall and closing your eyes.

In an instant, the darkness within your eyes was turned to light, and your mind was lifted...up.
