AUTHORS POV

"PANT...PANT...PANT...GRUNT!"

You groaned pulling Brice up a rock which you had to scale to continue down your path.

It was hot, yet it was dark...

It didn't help that you were nervous about the battle up ahead... the sweat of stress made you even more tired... for you knew what was about to happen.

After helping everyone over the rock, you all continued down your path... you, Derik, and Christa were all fearful of where you were.

"U-um... Sirs?" Your superiors looked over at you, their faces, completely peaceful.
"Is... I have noticed that none of you are scared of wandering around in the middle of the jungle, at night, in TITAN territory."

You pointed to the Walls you were walking away from, putting more emphasis into what you were saying.

"Why would we be afraid? First off we have God's protection... secondly... Titans don't move at night."

...

...

...

"They...don't move?"

"Think about it like this." Armin suggested, giving you and your friends a quick lesson on Titans.
"A Titan has yeast inside of it's body... therefore, a Titan is like a loaf of bread. In the heat of the sun, they thrive and move... whereas, in the dark, they become somewhat paralyzed and freeze up. That is why we chose to leave at night."

"Oh..." you sighed. "Shucks...that's good news to hear."

"Even Christians get scared, hey?"

You looked at Mikasa, mocking you in all her anger.

"Heh... it's not good, but I am still a human. Even Jesus got scared the night before He was to be crucified,"

You looked sadly to the sky.

"I mean...heck...He asked God to 'Let this cup pass from Me.' Meaning He wished not to go through the pain which had been destined for Him since birth..."

It went quiet, the only sounds being your marching feet in sync with the others.

Then...your thoughts kicked in.

'Fear is a human emotion that needs to be conquered... but it's not an easy thing to get rid of... especially if you know what the future holds.'

You watched the moon, shining in all its glory... until it was covered by the leaves of the trees which hung above.

You felt as though you were plunged in darkness, that satan was slowly creeping up behind you...ready to take you out.

But...with a single blow of wind, you felt calm...and strong.

You looked over at Christa, placed your hand on her shoulder and pulled her a little ways away from the group.

"Christa... I need you to promise me something."

TIMESKIP
The time eventually came when Eren would have to get into character.

Having him transform into his Titan form, you and the rest of the team worked quickly to cut off his hair and reshape his mouth.

You had to hold lanterns to see, for it was just a few hours before sunrise and it was still dark.

You had to move fast, there was no time for arguments or mistakes... for once the sun had risen, the gigantic 'loafs of bread' would rise.
