*Flashback*
"So where are these mysterious hosts I hear so much about?" Katerina had asked Elijah who walked next to her.
They where dressed in the clothing of the 14th century.
"Fashionably late." He stated taking two champagne glasses from a servant. "They like to make an entrance."
Nik and I took that as our queue to approach our company.
                        "Here they are."
As Nik and I approached Elijah and the woman who looked just like my sister. We bothed stared at her in awe. Klaus simply recognized her as Tatia, but I saw her as Amara.
"Katerina, may I introduce to you The Lord Niklaus and Lady Ava."
Katerina did a small curtsey. Klaus picked up her hand slowly and kissed the top of it. I could not help but feel a ping of jealousy, and let out a growl that only Nik could hear. I could see the smirk that grew on his face from the side.
"Niklaus is the name my father gave me. Please. Call me Klaus."
He smirked as I looped my arm through his to show her that he was mine and she could not have him.

"From where have you come, Katerina?" I asked her. Trying to make small talk, but also to get the information Nik needed.
"I'm new to town, my Lady." She replied. I could see this secrecy... this fire in her eyes. It's almost as if she is different from Amara. But she can not be. She is one of the doppelgangers.
"Katerina is from Bulgeria." Elijah announced to us.
"Zradevei, Katerina." Nik said to her.
I felt the jealousy return and I tugged on his arm. This girl looks like Tatia. The one who interfered with Klaus and I. I was not about to let him get to close to this doppelganger.
Katerina giggles a bit and stares at him in amazement.
                        "Very good." She complemented.
"Do you mind, brother, Ava? I would like to have a moment alone with her." Nik says to us.
I instantly felt the jealousy rise inside even more.
"No not at all. Happy Birthday, Nik."
I kissed his cheek, and then looked at Katerina; making it very obvious that he was mine and never to be hers.
                        "Happy Birthday, brother." Elijah said.
With that Nik smiled at me and kissed my cheek as well before taking Katerina by the arm and leading her off.
I stood their next to Elijah sending daggers through Katerina's head as I smirked evilly.

It was the night of Nik's birthday and all of the company had gone home. Including Katerina. I was seated upon Nik's lap while Elijah dug through papers. Nik smirked at me as I trailed my finger down his bare chest. I looked up at him and kissed his chest slightly. I then got up teasingly and started swaying in front of the fire place.
Elijah had a scroll in his hands and carried it over to Nik.
"Look... the Roman parchment." Elijah handed the scroll to Klaus.
        He stared intensely at it.
"I remember etching this scroll." Klaus said remembering.
Curiously, I walked over and knelt to Nik's side and looked at the parchment.
"Well, I was quite blistered from drink."
"Your finest work remains your Aztec drawings." Elijah said.
"Not the African carvings? Cause I was quite proud of those."
"The Aztec." Elijah stated sticking to his opinion.
"Who can resist a shaman?" I murmered to myself, remembering what the Aztecs use to call Avangeline, when they saw her healing their people.
Nik laughed heavily, probably thinking about the time Avangeline had made an Aztec warrior, who called her a Demon, dance in his undergarments and dance around ridiculously.
                        "Yes."
Elijah smiled and I gave out a little laugh.
