Chapter 19: A Little Bit of Fun

"Drive much?" Rebekah and I decided on getting back at Elena for stabbing Bekah in the back. After Esther had appeared, I did not know what to feel. I had a strange feeling about her return. Something was unsettling, but I am not sure if any one would believe me. "Surprised? You drove a dagger threw my back, Elena." Rebekah quickly pinned Elena to her car. I stood to the side smirking at the scene that was unfolding. The bitch gets what she deserves, and I can complete my final doppelganger mission. I will finally be free.

"It hurt." Rebekah said as she was about to sink her teeth into Elena, but Elijah swooped in and saved the day. He needs to leave. I have a mission here.

"Aw.... Why did you have to ruin the fun?" I whined.

"Elijah..." Rebekah whispered.

"Leave." He warned us both. Rebekah breathed a bit before taking a wider stance. That's my girl!! "Are you challenging me?" He asked.

"You're pathetic." Rebekah spoke, staring at her brother. Okay, now that wasn't a smart move. "Both of you." She then grabbed my hand and sped us back to the house. Dammit!

I walked into Niklaus' bedroom where he lied in bed. I was pulling off my jacket when he switched the lights on.

"Where have you been?" He asked a bit sternly.

"Rebekah and I went out for some fun." I lied. Well technically I half lied. We did go for some fun, but I wasn't really telling what kind of fun.

"Is that why you are all dressed in black?" I rolled my eyes at his constant questioning.

"Look Niklaus, everything is fine. Besides, Elijah stopped us before we could do any REAL damage. No need to worry." I hung my jacket across the chair before grabbing a pillow and a blanket from the towel closet, and getting settled on the couch.

"What are you doing, love?" Niklaus asked with amusement.

"I'm trying to go to sleep on the couch. What does it look like I'm doing?" I replied sarcastically.

"You don't need to sleep there. Come to the bed. With me."

"I don't think that is smart, Niklaus." I sighed, covering my eyes with the back of my hand.

"And why not?"

"Because..."

"Because why, my love?"

"Because of the way you are acting right now. And the way things are at the moment. It's not a good time for us. Do not get me wrong. I so want us to work. It's just..... It can't.... Not now." I could feel my heart beating like crazy. What I said was true. I do want us to work. I really do, but with the higher-power-kill-all-dopplegangers-of-Amara bitch witches out there, I don't want to risk his life. I'm scared that they will kill him. He is my soul mate. My other half. No matter how hard it is pushing myself away from him; the pain of losing him will be much worse. I can't go threw with that.

"You're scared..." Nik whispered.

"What?" I breathed out. My body was slowly freezing.

"You are scared. But of what?" He said more clearly. "What are you scared of Ava?" I thought of what to say for a few seconds.

"Of everything, Niklaus. Of everything." I whispered.

"Then let me hold you just this once tonight. Let me take all your fears away just for tonight." I listened to his words, replaying them in my head. It sounded like a good idea. Not being scared for once. Even if it was just for one night. What harm could come to sleeping next to him for one night?

I got off the couch and walked over to the opposite side of the bed.

"Please take your clothes off, love. You know I hate today's clothes being worn into bed." I rolled my eyes at Niklaus' OCD before stripping out of my clothes; only being left in my black-laced undergarments. Niklaus' eyes looked up and down my body causing me to feel a bit self-conscious. "You are still as beautiful as ever, my love." Heat instantly rose to my cheeks. Niklaus moved out the covers and patted the spot next to him. "Come."

I slid into the spot, turning on my side, resting my head on the pillow, and setting space between Nik and I. Forcefully, Nik wrapped an arm around my waste, and pulled me flat against his body. I turned around to meet his blue orbs. They seemed to gleam a brighter blue with a hint of green. They where beautiful. They are everything that I have missed.

I've missed his sandy hair, his blue eyes, his perfect nose. Those high cheek bones that just make you so jealous. But what I miss more is his lips. Those precious plump lips that always knew how to kiss me and to make me feel loved. That's what I missed.

Unknowingly, Nik began to lower his head closer to me. Staring into my eyes as if he could see right into my soul. As if he could see my fear, my worries, my secrets. I just want to kiss him in this moment. I want to feel those lips on mine.

As I moved my head even closer to his. Our lips barely brushing each others.... Niklaus decides to do the worst of all things. 

"Goodnight, my love. Sleep with the stars above. I love you, my queen." 

He wishes me goodnight.

Just thought I might add a little Nava (the new ship name I came up for them) moment. Sorry that it's short, but the next chapter will be long and...... *hint hint* have some dancing in it. Love y'all
