The street was crowded with so many people. The moonlight shining on them. There was Jazz music filling the air. People dancing, laughing, singing. The clear smell of alcohol filled my nose. I smiled as I saw what my city had become. Although I do hate the fact that it stinks sometimes. I smiled at everyone that I passed as I made my way to the compound. I stepped into the compound shouting.

"Marcellus!"

No answer.

"Marcellus!!"

Still no answer.

"MARCEL!!!!"

Suddenly someone rushed at me and pinned me against the wall by my throat. The one holding me against the wall looked to be in his twenties. He had colored skin and a brunette afro.

"Who are you?" He asked.

"The question is who are you?" I smirked at him.

"Diego! Put her down." I looked over to see Marcel walking towards us.

"But-"

"Put. Her. Down." He said sternly.

I felt Diego's grip loosen on my throat. I instantly reached up and broke his wrist. He cowered down in pain.

"I suggest you not do that again." I smirked at him. Diego just glared at me.

"Ava!" Marcel said opening his arms.

"Marcellus!" I walked into his arms and gave him a tight hug.

"How long has it been?" He asked pulling out of the hug but keeping his arms around me.

"Too long. The kingdom looks great!"

"It's all because of you, Ava."

"Ah! Not all of the credit goes to me."

Marcellus smiled at me and then turned towards all the vampires that had gathered in the center. Keeping his hand at the small of my back.

"Everyone! This here is Ava Mercedes Petrova! Queen of New Orleans!" He pronounced.

I smiled at everyone and curtsied as everyone cheered.

*********

It's been about two months since I first came to New Orleans. I've gotten too know a lot of the vampires here. Diego apologized for putting me in the choke hold and since then we've been good friends. The other vampires here respect me as well as the witches. Speaking of witches, Marcellus has been sleeping with a witch named Sophie Deveraux. She seemed pretty cool from what I've heard from him.

Oh! And I dyed my hair almost an ash blonde! I thought it was time for a new change.

As I was sitting in the study reading, wearing my leggings, one of Nik's old sweaters he had in the 20's, and some fuzzy socks; the witch Sophie walked in dressed in only a satin robe. I chuckled a bit before speaking.

"I see Marcellus has taken an interest in you." She gasped and turned around to see me. She instantly pulled the robe more close and started blushing.

"Um.. Yeah.. I'm s-sorry about....this." She motioned to herself.

"Oh. Don't be. I'm glad Marcellus found someone. In fact, I am glad it's you. I would prefer a witch over a vampire anyday." I smiled at her.

"Thanks." She stated looking at the ground.

I was about to make another comment when my phone rang. I set down my book and picked my phone up off the table.

'Hello?'

'Ava?'

'Oh. Hello, Caroline.'

'Ava-'

'Look I want to apologize for my part in Elena and Jenna's death.'

'It's okay, Aves. We've forgiven you.' Did I forget to mention that Caroline and I became really good friends during the weeks I was in Mystic Falls before the Sacrifice?

'Great. So what did you need?'

'Well tonight is Senior prank night and I was wondering if you could help us set up. I mean you are pretty old, no offence.'

'None taken.'

'So will you help us? You must know some pretty good pranks.'

I giggled 'Yes I do. I'll be there in a bit.'

Here is just a short little chapter. Count it as a filler for Ava's role in New Orleans
