I Promise- TommyInnit x Reader

Chapter XVIII

That night you slept peacefully for once. I guess it was the fact that you were actually content with what was happening in your life for once. You didn't dream, but you weren't uneasy. You had just fallen into a deep sleep. It was almost like all of your worries were gone, locked up in some far away prison.

When the perfect night of sleep was interrupted, your mood changed. Back in the car you would have to go, but at least you were getting to go somewhere new. The next place was requested by Tubbo, and he revealed the day before that it had something to do with bees. typical.

When you left the lodge, you said your goodbyes with Carson, and promised him that you would text him updates about Tommy. He secretly made Tommy promise the same thing.

Now as you pulled up to a small grey hut, you had almost forgotten about everything that happened before, and excitement had replaced the sadness of leaving such a great place. 

The building had one main entrance and a small parking lot on the side, but the back was filled with trees and numerous things that looked like rectangles. Upon closer examination, you figured out that they were bee hives.

Tommy grabbed your hand to help you out of the car, and didn't let go as you walked into the building. You knew that he was secretly very afraid of real bee's, but you said nothing so Toby wouldn't get too disappointed.

A man greeted you at the front, and led you back to a place where you would put on bee suits. Dream got dared not to wear one, so he ran out in the back immediately, followed most of the others. You had a hard time putting on your suit, so tommy helped you.

As you went outside you could see the 3 boys running off in the distance, seemingly trying to catch the bees. You envied their childish behavior sometimes, and their ability to find joy in everything they did.

Your thoughts were interrupted by hearing Niki scream for a second before hiding behind Wilbur... she had found the bees.

Members of your group ran all over the place chasing, running away from, and playing with the bees. Clay got stung quickly without his suit, so he went in early. But you were sat next so some flowers, admiring a bee from a distance.

Toby came over to you with the biggest smile on his face and you could tell he was really really enjoying himself.

"so what do you think y/n? pretty great isn't it?" he said with wonder in his eyes.

"yeah it really is amazing,"you said wholeheartedly, "I don't think Tommy is enjoying himself though." 

He laughed as the two of you turned to look at tommy who was sitting by the back entrance to the building, as far away from the bee's as he could be. You stuck out your tongue at him when he looked up, and he came over to sit by the two of you.

"Look tommy! a bee!" tubbo said excitedly as he looked at the ground in front of you. It was small and it looked harmless. Tommy looked scared out of his mind.

"here" you said you scooped it up and put it in Tommy hand. He freaked out before you put a hand around his shoulder and let him know it was going to be okay. He actually seemed to be enjoying himself now.

Your head was rested gently on his shoulder as he studied the small creature. It had 3 small stripes on it's back, and a small stinger on the end. It paced around his hand before flying away slowly.

"wow" was all he could say as he pulled you closer to him.

"wow" you said back to him.

half an hour later it was time to go, but before you did, everyone stopped by the little gift shop to buy some bee products. Tubbo got a bee hat, and some of the others got some honey. You had your eye on a bee plush as Tommy walked up behind you and asked what you wanted.

"can i get the plush pleaseeeee" you stretched out the end of the word, and looked at him with puppy dog eyes.

he sighed and picked it up, and then payed for it at the counter. As he handed it back to you you studied it in your hands. It was the perfect weight and very soft. You were in love with this plush.

Tommy pov: 

After I handed the stuffed bee to y/n her eyes lit up and she hugged it like a little kid.

It was these types of things that made me fall for her even more, the way she could get so excited about the littlest things made me happy. She could find the beauty in everything, and I really admired that.

When we got back in the car, she placed her head on my shoulder once again. We were all kind of done with being in the car, but the next place was supposedly really cool.

After not much time at all y/n fell asleep again and i snapped a quick picture of the two of us. She was cuddled to my side with her new bee squished up against her face. 

"what was that about tommy?" Wilbur wondered aloud. and the others turned to see my bright red face.

"Shut up Wilbur, you know it's not like that." I mumbled, trying not to wake her up.

"but it could be...." sapnap said winking at me. I rolled my eyes but secretly wished more than anything that it was true. 

ignoring the comments from the others in the car i looked outside. It was sunset, and the sky was a dull shade of pink, turning into orange, then red, then eventually purple and black. It reminded me of something but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. 

Maybe it was someone that it reminded me of.

Alright enough of this tommy, you have been way too soft lately, and it was time you turned into a big man and proved yourself.

A thought then popped into my head, I was going to steal one of y/n's airpods and listen to her music. Now i'm back on my way to becoming a man.

I casually slipped the airpod out of her left ear and put it in mine, then i tuned into what was playing.

oh God

she was listening to The Promise...
