Days to go before Christmas: 5 Time: 3:47 AM

She stands there looking out of her window. She watches the lights and the cars zooming by, a group of teenagers laughing drunkenly with their miniskirts and raised bottles of vodka, the snow continuing to fall down the streets of New York City. She rubs the bridge of her nose and wipes a tear falling down her eye, before looking down again at the picture of her and Callum in her hand. They were riding at a boat when the picture was taken that summer, the Statue of Liberty behind them while her boyfriend's arm wraps possessively on her waist as they make amusing faces at the camera. She remembers how warm the wind was and how it was so tempting to jump at the sea below them, and she remembers how they accidentally spilled ketchup to a ten year old girl and how they got a scolding from an elderly woman.

She sniffs her nose and closes her eyes, and remembers all this. The woman looks back at the window with a tear rolling down her cheek again.
