Chapter 6
Vonilla
I had learned time. No one taught me so I grasped the concept on my own. Everytime the sun went down and rose again was the start of a new day. It had been eleven nights since I escaped the agency, eight nights since I've been at Revlir.
I'd learned to use the clock in my room by teaching myself. At night when I couldn't sleep I sat and watched the sticks inside move to the numbers that I learned were hours.
I'm learning the routine of the rippers who go out during the day. Some I've noticed would be outside playing, others would be in classrooms in the other wings of the manor.
I've grown accustomed to the new room. I wondered why I couldnt hear rippers in the rooms next to mine. Rajae explained that not only do some rippers soundproof their rooms to a certain extent, but i don't have any neighbors.
The nurse had given me a room in an empty hall because she wasn't sure how I would get along with others. But a turn down the hall was Rajae's room and other rippers. Mostly rippers my age of older. Like Dylan and Jessica.
The large amount of rippers still bothered me, the crowds.
The thought of everywhere I turn, they'll be someone trying to kill me still at the back of my mind and embedded in my instincts.
But being around certain rippers, I'd come to like their company. For example, Jami.
He was actually good company. Not only was he a good fighter but a big talker. He'd carry on a conversation with his mouth just like he could carry on a conversation with his claws.
I'd actually learn a lot from him as well although it was still confusing because I was pretty new to even basic things.
But I'd spend more time with Rajae. He'd show me around and keep me company. Claritha hadn't visited me since we returned from the little outing three days ago so the other original took it upon himself to teach me.
We'd play tag but I hadn't manage to win a game against him.
Yet.
He'd showed me how to work the television in my room. I'd been fascinated by how it worked. How you could see the screen and the video was filmed. Like how we were filmed on the cameras of the agency.
My favourite thing to watch on the device are animal documentaries. I had never known that they were so many different animals.
Just like the glass house with the different kinds of plants. The first animal I had seen on the documentary was a bear.
A grizzly to be exact. It was interesting. They were big and had a lot of shaggy hair. Grizzly's defended themselves when threatened but if not they just ignored others. They were also strong.
I wondered what my strength was compared to a bear. Or a generation 1's since they were considered the strongest of the rippers. Could they win against a bear?
I had learned others. Birds, cats and more.
I was currently watching a documentary. Sitting on the floor cross legged. Rajae had left not too long ago so I found it strange when there was a knock on my door.
I had ignored it at first, not bothering to move from my spot as the details of the striped, black and white zebras held my interest.
But it came again. I should've known something was wrong. Three people came to my door.
Claritha, Rajae or Jessica. Rajae had come across the habit of just entering my room, rarely knocking.
Claritha gave a knock and immediately entered. Hers was a soft knock, enough to alert me it was her.
