Chapter 12
Vonilla
I was sitting in the classroom again, watching the younger rippers in the class. So excited and eager.
I smiled as I watched them.
Jenna then walked over to me and gave me a paper.
"You were taught to read and write, correct?" She asked as I looked at the work on the paper.
"Yes" I said
"Good, then can you complete this worksheet for me?"
I nodded and at the top where it said name, I wrote Vonilla. If I was being honest, it had grown on me. Besides everyone knew me by that name so there was no point in not answering.
I continued down the paper. There were maths questions like what the kids were doing. Simple things like two plus two. I went through those.
Until I got to the division and multiplication. Those were nice as well. Like when one agent is attacked, the numbers multiply to bring down the threat, me.
And when I hunt, I divide the groups into smaller numbers to feast.
I got through those ones easily.
Then she brought out worded questions. She didn't bring things I had no idea of like the nurses at the agency. For example this question about tea cups. I didn't know what it was at the time and it always tripped me up. Instead Ms Jenna made it easier for me.
In total there were 12 agents. If you eat three, tear apart four and one runs away, how many are left? Four are.
Simple questions and I got through the paper pretty ok. When I was finished, I gave it back to Ms Jenna who corrected it.
She gave it back to me when class was finished and the children were heading out.
"Not bad, well I shouldn't be surprised. Claritha did teach you first." Ms Jenna said
I hummed as I noticed Carla stood next to me waiting. I raised an eyebrow as I noticed her classmates waved her goodbye but she stood by me.
"You're good Vonilla. But if you wish I could teach you more. If you'd like?" Ms Jenna offered and I turned to her
"More?"
"Yes. What would you like to learn? History? Geography? You know Mathematics and English already"
I thought about it. It interested me. Knowledge, knowing things around me.
"Okay"
"You can show up whenever you like." Ms Jenna offered with a smile before dismissing us.
I nodded and left with Carla beside me. She had wrapped her fingers around my hand and seemed content about it. I didn't argue nor pull away.
When we had gotten to a corner, we bumped into Rajae. Carla beamed and ran to him. "Big brother!"
Rajae lifted her with a smile on his face. "I'm sorry I'm late Carla. I had something to do"
"That's ok. Big sister was walking me" Carla said and Rajae turned to me with a smirk.
"Big sister huh?" Jae asked and I shrugged. Carla had taken to calling me that. I didn't know why and I didn't ask.
Rajae then looked at Carla. "Ready to play?"
Carla nodded happily before turning to me. "Will you play too?"
My eyes widened and I didn't know what to say. I didn't exactly have anything better to do but I also felt like I was intruding here. However, it seems I wasn't given a chance.
