Chapter 14: Perdu

Hello my Lil' Cataclysies and fellow Chat Noirs. It is I, Ky (aka Cat Noir's Cataclysm). I am alive and posting again. I know I said that last time but I am serious this time. I have finally written the next chapter (this one) and I am working on chapter 15 while you are reading this. I will hopefully have it done soon but I will not give an estimate this time because I never actually reach those anymore 😅. 

I am more active on YouTube now as well (just a reminder its Cat Noir's Cataclysm) and I am open to requests for videos you want to see on it. I have a big project I've been working on thats going to be up soon. I am going to be more active on instagram (@catnoirscataclysm) soon as well.

Alya's POV

Nino and I were walking off the bridge. We were laughing and eating ice cream we just got from André, when we suddenly heard people screaming.

"Whats going on?" Nino asked.

"I think it might be an akuma attack." I replied. I passed him the ice cream and took out my phone, opening up my camera.

We walked towards the screaming and hid behind a building, peaking around the side so we could see what was going on. There were people running by us and others who were struggling to get off the ground. There was suddenly a beam of purple light that flew by, barely missing Nino and I. Once we knew it was gone, we looked to the source of the beam and saw the akuma victim. It looked a lot like...

"Cat Noir?!" Nino and I said simultaneously.

He turned towards us and shot a beam our way. We hid behind the building again and stayed there. Suddenly we heard him yell.

"You should be hurting too Alya! She was your best friend!"

"What is he talking about?" Nino asked.

"Best friend?" I mumbled. Then it clicked.

I stepped out from our hiding spot. Nino grabbed my arm, but I pulled away.

"What happened to Marinette?!"

Nino's POV

Cat Noir shot a purple beam at Alya and I. We hid behind the building again before it could hit us. He shouted at Alya.

"She was your best friend!"

"What is he talking about?" I whispered.

Alya mumbled something, but I couldn't make out what she said. Then she stepped out from our hiding spot. 

"Alya!" I said, grabbing her arm. She pulled away from me. She looked worried, but almost mad.

"What happened to Marinette?!" Alya demanded. 

Then it clicked for me, too. I stepped just behind Alya and looked at her, then Cat Noir. He was pointing his staff at us, but then relaxed his shoulders and lowered his staff.

"I couldn't..." he said after a few seconds. "She's-"

Ladybug appeared behind him.

"Cat Noir!" She yelled.

Ladybug's POV

"Be careful, Marinette." Master Fu said as I headed to the window.

"I will." I replied.

I jumped to the top of a building and looked around to see if I could spot Cat Noir. I heard screams coming from an area near the bridge. I hooked my yoyo on to something and started heading in that direction. The screams had died down a little bit, but that only made me move faster. 

"Please be okay." I whispered to myself. I wanted to know why Cat Noir got akumatized. More importantly, I wanted to help him.

I was almost to the bridge when I saw saw a bright, purple beam go from one side of the street to the other. Towards the end of the beam, I saw Alya and Nino standing out in the open. When I looked towards the origin of the beam, I saw someone who looked like Cat Noir. I sung over and landed about 10 feet behind him.

"Cat Noir!" I yelled.

He spun around to look at me. He had bright, purple, glowing eyes that matched the color of his beams. His hair was jet black with streaks running through that were as blue as my hair. His suit was a darker silver with red and purple streaks running through. He had a purple paw print where the green one used to be on his now jet black staff and matching bell. When Cat Noir saw me, he looked shocked.

"L-Ladybug?" he whispered. He relaxed a bit. He looked confused and sad at the same time.

"Chat, where is the akuma?" I asked.

"B... but you were... you died. How are you-?" 

"I didn't die. I'm right here, Chat." He dropped his head and I started to slowly walk towards him. "Where is your akuma?"

"Cat Noir?" I said when I got within arms reach of him. 

He suddenly looked up at me with anger and pain in his eyes. "I'm not Cat Noir. My name is Perdu. And you are not my Ladybug!" He got ready to attack me.

Final authors note:

As you saw I chose the name Perdu. It means lost and is a French word. As you know from previous chapters, Chat got akumatized because he lost Ladybug/Marinette. So I thought it fit.
