Chapter 8: The Fall

Ladybug's view

I ran away from Cat Noir to a nearby building and used my yo-yo to jump onto it. I heard a yell from behind me but I didn't know who it was or what they said, but I didn't look back. I started to run. I couldn't see very well because my eyes were stinging with tears. My arm started to burn so bad that I fell. I had felt the effect of the purple salt move from just below my elbow to just below my shoulder. It was getting closer to my heart.

I have to get to Master Fu! I thought.

I heard a slight thud come from behind me. I turned around to see Cat Noir.

"Ladybug?! Are you ok?!"

I stood up and started running.

"Stay away from me!"

"Ladybug! I'm trying to help you!" he said. I could hear him running behind me.

I turned my head to look at him, still running.

"No! I said stay..."

"Look out, Ladybug!" Cat suddenly yelled.

I whipped my head around to look in front of me to see an ally below my feet.
I had dropped my yo-yo accidentally and started to fall. I couldn't do anything about it.

Cat Noir's view

When I got on the building, I saw Ladybug kneeling down.

"Ladybug?! Are you ok?!"

"Stay away from me!" she said. She stood up and started to run away. I followed close behind her.

"Ladybug! I'm trying to help you!" I said.

She turned her head to look back at me, not paying attention to where she was going. I noticed she was nearing the end of the building. She was gonna fall if I didn't do something. I started to run faster.

"Look out, Ladybug!" I yelled.

She whipped her head around just as she ran over the ledge. She dropped her yo-yo and couldn't do anything to save herself. I slid on the roof top and got to the edge just in time to grab her right arm.

"Cat Noir?!" Ladybug said, seemingly shocked.

"I won't let go." I said.

I adjusted myself to where I could pull her up. I held on as tight as I could and started to pull her up.

"I-I'm flooding grip!" she said with a  panicked look on her face.

"I-I know. I'm t-trying." I said, still trying to pull her up.

Just before I ha pulled her up, her hand slipped through mine and she started to fall again. I quickly bent down and grabbed her other arm, forgetting I had used cataclysm on it. As soon as I grabbed it she yelled out in pain. She used her feet and pushed on the wall instinctively. She was out of my reach now. She started to fall.

"Ladybug!"

Ladybug's view

As I started to fall, Cat Noir grabbed my right arm. I was shocked but I grabbed his back. We were struggling to hold on to each other. As he had almosted pulled me up, my hand slipped from his. He grabbed my hurt arm to try and save me. I yelled in pain and instinctively pushed up against the wall with my feet, causing me to be out of his reach. Neither of us could do anything. Suddenly, everything was in slow motion.

"Ladybug!" I heard Cat yell.

I heard my miraculous beep for the last time. I slowly started to de-transform as I fell. I covered my face so Cat wouldn't find out my identity and to protect it for when I hit the ground. I saw Cat get ready to jump after me but I hit the ground before he could do anything. I yelled out in pain.

Cat Noir's view

Ladybug started to de-transform as she fell. She covered her face as she heard her miraculous beep. I got ready to jump after her but she hit the ground before I could jump. She yelled out in pain as I saw her kwami fly towards her. The little red creature looked up at me with worry.

I started to turn so that I could help her, but then I noticed something. I had seen the clothes she was wearing before. The pink pants and shoes. The grayish-black jacket. The small round purse with an "M" on it.  I knew this girl. It was...

"Marinette?" I whispered.

I started to have flashbacks of whenever I was with Ladybug or Marinette. It made so much sense. The personalities complimented eachother. My Lady was infront of me the whole time. How had I not noticed it before?

I heard Marinette start to cry and I snapped back into reality. I had to help her. I heard my miraculous beep and jumped down the other side of the building before I de-transformed.

"Plagg, claws in." I said when i was on the ground again.

Adrien's view

"Plagg! It was Marinette the whole time! I have to go help her!"

I turned around and ran towards the ally she was in.

Author's note

Hi guys sorry I haven't updated in a while. Everything has been so busy and I had to write more of the story down😊. So anyway I wanted to let you know that I am going to start updating again. (Yay) And since I haven't in a while I will be posting 2 chapters this week! Chapter 9 will be up tomorrow or the day after.
And I will start to post every 2 weeks (twice a month) from now on as I haven't written the whole story yet.
