18. The Last Dance

Klaus, still in Alaric's body, opened Alaric's wardrobe and looked at his clothes in distaste.

"Who is this guy, Safari Sam?" Klaus asked annoyed, picking two acceptable shirts, "Okay, bad or badder?" Klaus asked Katherine.

"The dark colors suit you better" Katherine replied.

"Oh, thank you, honey" Klaus said, "Okay, pop quiz, the dagger and white ash are in the Salvatore's possession, correct?".

"The dagger was used to kill Elijah" Katherine informed, "You'll find him in the basement of the house, but you won't be able to take the dagger out as the Bennet witch did a spell on it".

"Good, that dagger needs to stay exactly where it is" Klaus said, "The last thing I need to do is resurrect Elijah, oh that guy is a buzz kill".

"And don't forget you're on the outs with your girlfriend Jenna" Katherine reminded.

"Right, Elena's aunt, for, uh, all the lies about Isobel" Klaus remembered, "What else?".

"That's it" Katherine answered, not telling Klaus that the Connor witch he was going to use in the sacrifice is his long lost best friend, someone his been waiting for centuries.

Klaus walked over to Katherine and caressed her check, making Katherine jump in fear, "Oh, so jumpy".

"Please just kill me, I've told you everything that I know" Katherine pleaded.

"You see, I believe that you believe that" Klaus said, "But what would you not know? What could they be keeping from you? Hmm? Anything? Tell me".

"They were trying to see if Bonnie could find a way to kill an Original without a dagger" Katherine answered.

"Bonnie the best friend?" Klaus asked, Katherine nodded, "But there's something else your hiding, something bigger, spill it Katerina".

"I-I'm not" Katherine stuttered.

"But you are" Klaus said, forcing Katherine to look into his eyes, "Tell me what your hiding".

"The Connor witch you are going to use in the sacrifice, she is your best friend" Katherine replied, in a daze from Klaus's compulsion, "The girl your family has been waiting for a thousand years, she's finally back".

Klaus suddenly grabbed Katherine by the throat, "Don't lie to me!" Klaus yelled, "I will not tolerate any lies when it comes to Ariana!".

"I-I'm not" Katherine said, struggling in Klaus's grip, "You compelled me, I can't lie to you, she's really back, Ariana Connor is back as Aria Connor".

Klaus let go of Katherine and stepped back from her with a huge smile on his face.

"She's back" Klaus whispered happily, "She kept her promise, she came back to us, oh I can't wait to meet you my lovely Ari".

"Knock, knock" Liz said, knocking on Caroline's door.

"Mom?" Caroline asked confused, usually her Mom would be at work by now.

"Is Aria here?" Liz asked.
