05. Kill Or Be Killed

"Wakey, wakey Ria".

Aria groaned and put her blanket over her face, "No".

"Come on Ria" Damon said, removing the blanket from Aria's face, "You need to get up, we have to go to the town's picnic".

Aria finally opened her eyes, "Do I have to go?".

"Yes you do" Damon said, grabbing Aria's arms and helping her sit up, "We both have to be there and show Katherine despite her threats, we are still together".

Aria looked at Damon in worry, "Is that smart?".

"Don't know, don't care" Damon said, "All I care about is letting everyone know that we are still together and no one is ever coming in between us".

"Since when are you so cheesy?" Aria asked, Damon's words making her heart warm.

Damon smiled at Aria, "Since I met you".

Aria smiled and kissed Damon, "I'm only going to this thing because of you".

"Thank you" Damon said.

"You're welcome" Aria said, grabbing Damon's shirt and pulling him down into a kiss.

"Morning Stefan" Aria said.

"Morning Aria" Stefan said, "How you been?".

"I've been better" Aria confessed, making Stefan give her a sympathetic smile, knowing Katherine's threat has Aria a bit shaken up, "But you tell me, why are you walking towards Mason Lockwood?".

"I need to talk to him and not let Damon make things messy" Stefan said.

"I'll come with you" Aria said.

Stefan nodded and with that both Aria and Stefan walked over to Mason, who was busy taking things out of his truck, he looked towards Stefan and Aria when he heard footsteps come near him.

"Stefan, right? The other Salvatore" Mason said.

"The nice one" Stefan said, "The one offering an apology".

"Not interested" Mason stated.

"Look Damon acted impulsively, it's just what he does" Aria defended.

"You and Damon keep at each other's throats, somebody innocent is gonna get hurt, and I don't want that" Stefan said, "You have family here, so I can't imagine you'd want that either, so what do you say we just, uh, quit the whole alpha male fighting thing and just call it a truce?".

"I made the same offer to your brother" Mason snapped, "He turned it down, with a knife".

"He made a mistake" Stefan said, "And me and Aria are here to make sure that neither one of you make another one".

"Tell your brother to watch his back" Mason said, ignoring Stefan's words.

Aria stood infront of Mason blocking his path, "Here's the thing Mason, I've been quiet because your Tyler's uncle and I've known you since I was a kid, I don't want to hurt you, but you do not come here and try to threaten the guy I love, and he only has to worry during a full moon, the only day your strong enough to take him on, the rest of the days Damon could easily rip your heart out, don't provoke him, because he will do it, and no one except you will get blamed for it".
