05. Kill Or Be Killed

"Wakey, wakey Ria".

Aria groaned in annoyance as she heard Damon's voice in her ear, she immediately put her blanket over her face, "No".

"Come on Ria" Damon said, removing the blanket from Aria's face, "You need to get up, we have to go to the town's picnic".

Aria finally opened her eyes and looked at Damon, "Do I have to go?".

"Yes you do" Damon said, grabbing Aria's arms and helping her sit up, "We both have to be there and show Katherine that despite her threats, we are still together".

Aria looked at Damon in worry, "Is that smart?".

"Don't know, don't care" Damon said, "All I care about is letting everyone know that we are still together and no one is ever coming in between us, ever".

"Since when are you so cheesy?" Aria asked, Damon's words making her heart warm.

Damon smiled at Aria, "Since I met you".

Aria smiled, she then leaned forward and kissed Damon, "I'm only going to this thing because of you".

"Thank you" Damon said.

"You're welcome" Aria said, grabbing Damon by his shirt and pulling him down into a kiss.

"Morning Stefan" Aria greeted, as she walked over Stefan at the town's picnic.

"Morning Aria" Stefan greeted back, "How you been?".

"I've been better" Aria confessed, making Stefan give her a sympathetic smile, knowing Katherine's threat had Aria a bit shaken up, "But you tell me, why are you walking towards Mason Lockwood?".

"I need to talk to him and not let Damon make things messy" Stefan said.

"I'll come with you" Aria offered.

Stefan nodded and with that both Aria and Stefan walked over to Mason, who was busy taking things out of his truck, he looked towards Stefan and Aria when he heard footsteps come near him.

"Stefan, right? The other Salvatore" Mason realised.

"The nice one" Stefan clarified, "The one offering an apology".

"Not interested" Mason stated.

"Look Damon acted impulsively, it's just what he does" Aria defended.

"You and Damon keep at each other's throats, somebody innocent is gonna get hurt, and I don't want that" Stefan said, "You have family here, so I can't imagine you'd want that either, so what do you say we just quit the whole alpha male fighting thing and just call it a truce?".

"I made the same offer to your brother" Mason snapped, "He turned it down, with a knife".

"He made a mistake" Stefan defended, "And me and Aria are here to make sure that neither one of you make another one".
