It having been a month, with no form of contact with any of the Spiders, to the exception of Pakunoda the day after our departure as well as the odd text from Hisoka asking for God knows what. It was fair to say I was hit with a heavy blow of adrenaline at the mere thought of being occupied with a job.

If I had no pride, I'd have likely leapt for glee, the boring time spent on my own coming to a much welcomed end.

And with this all well and good, I was more that content to know I would not be risking my safety by staying in that area while he was also there, waiting. Watching.

As soon as I had received the message I questioned whether or not I should have returned home with him present in the area and honestly, I wish I had. But alas, I did not wish to risk myself or my location more than I already had, so I refrained from doing so — instead deciding to go there between meeting Chrollo and whatever mission he was to put me on (if possible).

After his initial misson pitch, Chrollo sent a cryptic message in order for me to locate him. I could think of many reasons as to why but none I could confirm. This said, it seemed oddly targeted in order for me specifically to be able to figure it out.

And so I did so in a matter of a few minutes, already gone and on my way to find him.

"Boss?" I called for him. No matter what Chrollo seemed to always find the most abandoned, dull and broken buildings, which was strange considering he was a thief and could most definitely afford to stay in a hotel every now and then.

But it wasn't my place to question the boss.

Chrollo, however...

After walking further into the building, I finally managed to spot him, sitting atop a pile of what had clearly fallen from the ceiling — I was beginning to notice a theme.

Above him, a huge gap in the ceiling not only clarified this, but also painted the scene in the most stunningly beautiful way you could imagine.

From somewhere, a blue light cascaded down as if we were inside an underwater cave and fell gently upon Chrollo's face, illuminating him with the glow of the moon, despite the night still being young.

He sat, in his usual outfit, only his hair was down, framing his face and glowing with the light. The same book in hand from back in Yorknew. I questioned if he had gotten any further than before.

"Boss." I announced my presence to him, waiting patiently as he reached a section of the book he seemed to find acceptable enough to pause at.

"Hello, Y/n." he lowered his book down and rested its spine on his thigh. "Thank you for coming so quickly."

I nodded, "How is it that you always hide away in buildings like this?"

He let out a small laugh. "I seem to be rather at home when it comes to places like this. I'm used to a messy living space."

Right... Meteor City... "I see." I nodded, half-hearted. "May I ask what this mission requires, Boss?"

"Let's wait." he replied, looking towards the door.

I furrowed my eyebrows, confused, but did not voice my concerns. He said we should wait and so that is what we would do. I wasn't foolish enough to annoy him with a barrage of questions.

For that reason, I made an attempt to distract myself, instead opting to look around the space with some form of vague interest as we waited for whoever was to arrive. Although I could make an educated guess as to whom it could be.

After a few minutes of looking around I finally came to a bored stand still, and sat down at the bottom of the ceiling rock pile. And then, after a few more excruciatingly long moments, I pulled out my phone and fiddled with one of the strange apps Killua used to play of my phone.
