I woke up with a jolt at the sound of my phone going off. I reached over to my bedside table and switched off my second alarm (the first I had purposefully ignored). Placing my phone back down, I got up and out of the bed and grabbed my clothes from yesterday.
I walked into the bathroom, cleaned out the blood (which took some time) and stitched the most prominent tears and holes. Once the clothes where clean, I got changed and exited the bathroom.
I grabbed my phone and debit card and walked into the living room where I saw Gon and Killua both sleeping peacefully on the couch. Gon had his head tilted and his mouth slightly agape. His right hand had a firm grasp on the TV remote.
Killua, on the other hand, was seated on the left cushion and was leaning against the arm of the sofa. His lower face was stuffed into the pillow he was hugging close to himself. I took out my phone and snapped a picture as it was cute and left the hotel room, making sure to leave a note as to where I was going in case they were to have any issues.
I bought a few outfits, most of which could be used on missions in case father needed me to do some work close by as I "watch over Kil" but the main reason I don't wish to go home is so my wounds can heal so I can avoided any sort of interrogation.
My hand was still broken, so I lurked around until I found what I needed, a pair of women's biker gloves. Being questioned by Illumi (or anyone else for that matter) was also something I didn't want to go through, so it was in my best interest to buy some sort of hand covering.
Paying my thanks to the store owner, I left to a public bathroom and got changed into one of my newly bought outfits.
The outfit I chose to wear had a white, one-shouldered crop top, a pair of ripped jeans and a black denim hoodie, a pair of platform boots, the biker gloves and-just to be on the safe side-various knives of all sizes hidden throughout my outfit.
By now, it was roughly nine : forty-five, so I walked around until I found Lexin Street. I walked up to the glass door, to which I assumed was the hotel and made my way to the front desk.
"What can I do for you today, ma'am? Would you like to book a room or...?" A young girl, I'd say about mid late teens, asked.
"No, no. It's quite alright. I was just wondering what floor room nineteen was on?" I asked nonchalantly.
"What business do you have with the guests in room nineteen?" She gave me a suspicious look and sent a raised eyebrow my way. I returned the raised brow but not for the same reason.
She said guests... As in, plural? That confirms that someone was with him when I called him yesterday... I inhaled and spoke with slight irritation.
"My business is not your concern. Just tell me what floor I must go to before I stop being civil and go find out for myself." She eyed me once more before sighing and pointing towards the elevator.
"Take the elevator up to the fourth floor. There you will find rooms fifteen to twenty. As far as I know, the guests that are occupying that room have not left today, so if you plan on stealing or whatever you people do,"
... You... People...? I thought as a tick mark started to appear.
"Try not to get caught nor to bring me down with you." She flashed me a fake smile which I, without a doubt, returned. After that encounter, I went to locate my brother and whoever he was apparently rooming with.
Although the hotel Illumi was staying in was significantly smaller, it did not lack in modern decor. In fact, I'd say it was probably more well-furnished than the hotel I was staying.
With a 'beep', the elevator opened on the fourth floor. I walked down the hall until I approached room nineteen. As I was about to knock, the door opened, and I was met by...
Hisoka... I looked up to meet his eyes (without those heels of his, I'd say we'd be at a somewhat similar height, although I'm sure he would still be taller by maybe a few inches) with a questioning gaze only to be met with that of amusement filling his.
"....Clown... " I trailed.
I opened the door wider and pushed past him. He closed the door behind me with a chuckle, not seeming to care my my rash action.
"I'd much prefer the term Magician, dear.~♥ But you already know that." He said and moved towards a stool, where he sat with crossed legs.
Of course I'm aware, Hisoka, why do you think I do it?
Deciding not to humour him, I brush him off and take a look around. Inspecting random trinkets that I knew belonged to neither of them.
"My brother," I put down the little fake cactus and turned to Hisoka, who was pouring a shot of what looked like whiskey. "Where is he?" I walked closer to Hisoka before sitting a seat away from him.
"Your brother is on a call to your father. I overheard them talking about business before Illumi... Forcefully removed me from the room." He smirked as I nodded in response and placed my chin on my palm, my elbow resting on the counter.
"Hm~? You seem troubled, dear, care for a drink~♥?" I looked towards him and saw that he was gesturing towards the whiskey bottle. I scrunched up my face and raised my hand as a silent gesture of myself declining. He pouted in response but didn't care enough to push.
I heard a door to my left open, so I turned my body to look at Illumi. "Ah. I see you have arrived, Y/n. I was just discussing some business with Father. I would apologise for not warning you about Hisoka's presence, but I hadn't known he would return this morning after I had removed him from my room yesterday."
Illumi walked over and stood in front of both me and Hisoka. Before either Illumi or I could discuss my being here, Hisoka spoke, "Do forgive my curiosity, but I had heard you got into some trouble, and I was just wondering what happened~?" Illumi looked at me with a slightly tilted head, indicating that he, too, wanted to know.
