Third POV
The Phantom Troupe had quickly made their leave after hearing several vehicles rush to the Auction location. They had taking off in a hot air balloon, the people below completely unaware of what had happened.
A few members had taken off before hand, namely Pakunoda and Phinks. The boss had requested their immediate return to which they couldn't deny.
All those below them had one thing on their mind, to catch the thieves.
"No merchandise?" A voice questioned on the opposite end on the phone.
"None. In fact the vault was completely empty. The Auctioneer was the only one who knew the whole situation, and according to him all the items were taken to a new location a few hours ago. It's almost like they expected this to happen and we're fully prepared for it." Uvogin, Phantom Troupe member 11, was tasked with talking to the boss over the phone and inform him of their missions status.
A short and breathless 'Oh' could be heard through the phone. "Don't you think the timing is a little too coincidental? If you ask me, I'd say with have a rat in our ranks." It was understandable for Uvogin to think such a thing, but some of the others weren't so convinced.
"So you're saying we've got a traitor? Are you positive?" Everyone in the hot air balloon raised their heads slightly, considering the possibility while completing disregarding the knocked out duo-haired girl.
"There isn't a traitor - no one in the troupe would have a clear motive. Think about it, what would the traitor gain from selling us out to the mafia? Money, fame, status? Would that be enough to gratify any of us? Or to slake our thirst in anyway?" The boss spoke the truth, no member of the troupe would gain anything that they couldn't get already with the troupe. And for those who had joined due to... Ulterior motives would have either acted already or felt that it wasn't the time yet.
The Boss continued proving his point with factual information. "Alright I think I follow you. What do we do now?"
"The Auctioneer... Did you ask were the merchandise was moved?"
"I did, but he kept on insisting he didn't know. All the way up until he died. Feitan tortured him-"
"He had the worst luck out of anyone today." Feitan eyes hovered over Y/n before glaring at her sleeping form.
"Feitan is actually bringing a souvenir back to base. Not by his choice of course."
"Oh? Enlighten me."
"A girl. We can only assume she's an assassin of some kind, what really made us interested was the fact that she was able to hold her own up against Feitan. Her Nen ability is interesting so we thought you might want to take it. Machi promised Feitan a torture session though, it was probably the only reason he agreed." Feitan 'tsk'ed in response but in his mind he had been planning all the things he would do to her. He already knew she had to stay alive until the boss said otherwise, that had limited a few of his options.
Uvogin and the boss had continued discussing the previous conversation, the boss wrapped it up by telling Uvogin to make a scene and attract the shadow beasts. "Now my blood's pumping!"
---
Uvo had single handedly defeated waves of the Underground Mafia, as well as three of the Shadow beasts. Although he did not come out unscathed. He had two chunks of flesh removed from his body, one on his neck and the other on his leg, the shadow beast that caused the wound had also filled Uvo's body with a quick acting poison that paralyzed his body from the neck down.
