As I made my first few steps out of the elevator, I saw a gold plaque on the wall.
'Rooms 61 - 70'
I suppose I'm feeling lucky today. I walked down the right hallway and found my room. Upon placing my key inside the lock and hearing it click I grasped onto the handle and opened the door.
While I allowed my eyes to scan across my temporary room I actually found it relatively pleasing. The moment you find yourself inside the apartment you'll be entered into the main room. Against the right wall was a mounted TV with a paired stand beneath it, some kind of gaming console inside. Displayed in a 'u' shape were white woolly sofas as well as a multi-coloured rug underneath. The furthest wall was simply just a large window, the perfect view of Yorknew visible to enjoy.
To the left was an open roomed kitchen with the only divider being the bar-like counter top. I was surprised to find the fridge and two cupboards filled with basic enough food, but simply took it as part of the hotel's hospitality. Opposite the kitchen was the bathroom.
Nothing was very interesting about the bathroom.
I was surprised to find the bedroom to be upto my standards all things considered. Centered up against the far wall was the queen-sized bed, on either side both a small cabinet and window. Opposite that was a wardrobe with a genuinely alarming amount of space.
Putting the room to good use, I made sure to careful pack away all my items (being sure to stuff my duffle bag beneath a couch cushion) before grabbing my key and heading out.
As I moved to make way for the hotel's exit, I saw paused as I watched the same young boy being seduced by yet another women. At this rate I questioned how they were even still in business, the poor boy constantly being exploited. Ah well. I sighed, walking out.
Damn. I thought as I walked out using the side door. The night sky was purplish in colour and all the street lights glowed brightly with the stars, the various neon signs causing colourful hues to dance among themselves across the previously dull roads.
There were also a lot more people about. Well I suppose Yorknew isn't the city of night for nothing. I hummed in approval, assassins and darkness going hand in hand. It was honestly quite useful.
While I walked around the streets, not entirely sure what I wished to do, I suddenly came across a crowd circling around what seemed to be three individuals. I squinted my eyes in an attempt to see between the many masses of bodies only to give up and opt move closer.
Like I had thought there were three people. One man was extremely loud and was in a blue business suit. He had dark hair and glasses. Looked to be in his 30's. The second boy was sitting down with his elbow on a wooden crate. He had black hair that changed into green towards the top. He had big brown eyes and looked around 12 or 13.
The third boy was holding a ring in a black box. He had white hair and sapphire blue cat eyes— wait a minute... "Kil?" the sound of the crowd's chattering drowned out my own. I let out a exhale before then raising my voice in order to be properly heard. "Hey, Killua!" everyone had turned to look at me in confusion but I paid them no mind as I pushed myself between them all. Forementioned boy turned to look at me with a blank expression, partnered with a raised eyebrow.
His eyes quickly widened and his mouth fell open in what looked like an attempt to form words once he realised it was me standing not even a metre before him. "Y/n..? Wh...what are you doing here, haha...?" he let out a nervous chuckle, sweat dripping down his temple.
I couldn't help but notice just how terrified the poor boy looked. I could only assume he thought I was here to take him back home.
Never would I have done such a thing of my own volition, I had hoped Kil to have known that much. How I saw it, Killua was free to do as he chose (within reason) as long as he remained in contact with the family and (in all honesty) I truly believed Illu would be the best choice as "heir".
