Ryan's POV
Once we reached the beach we were divided into groups based on the seating arrangement in the car Jade and I, Amber and Charles, and lastly Debby and Jeff
We decided that we'd have a bonfire here to celebrate our meeting
We'd meet back at the beach when it was already 8 and we exchanged phone numbers so that we can contact each other when needed
We set up our stuff at far end of the beach where no one was
"So who's in charge of what?" I asked
"Um I guess we could draw sticks and pick what we want." Debby suggested
"I'll go grab a stick." Charles said
"So what are the jobs?" Amber asked
"We need firewood and food." Jade said
"Here's the stick." Charles said
"So how bout the one who gets the longest doesn't have to do any of the jobs and the longer one can choose which one they want?" I suggested
"Yeah that seems like a good idea." Amber said
I picked up the stick and broke it to 3 pieces
"Okay. Who's picking for their team?" I asked
"I'll pick for us." Jeff said
"Me!" Amber said
"Okay then. Ladies first." I said
Amber got her stick then Jeff then I went last
We each took a look at each others' stick and Amber got the longest then me then Jeff
"Yes!" Amber exclaimed giving Charles a high-five
"Sorry." Jeff said to Debby
"It's okay. I don't mind." Debby said giving Jeff a reassuring smile
"So which one do u want to do?" I asked Jade
"Hm... Which do you think I'd prefer?" Jade asked Ryan

Debby's POV
Both Amber and I made eye contact and said
Food
We both know which one Jade wanted because even though she doesn't really mind which ever, she'd prefer the food 'cuz that way she could buy as much as she wanted

What are you doing? I asked Jade
Nothing... Just trying to make things interesting. Jade said

Ryan's POV
I thought about which one she'd prefer food or firewood?
Hmm if I choose firewood then... no.... Food? I thought to myself
I love food... And if Jeff and Debby went to get the food... They won't probably get enough for me....
"Umm I'm going with food..?" I said a bit hoping she liked what I picked
"That's perfect! I love food!" Jade exclaimed
In the corner of my eye I saw Debby and Amber sharing a smile
I just went and gave Jade a smile and she smiled back at me

Jeff's POV
Once it was decided on which job we'd take, Debby and I decided on taking off and walk around the beach
The beach wasn't packed with a lot of people just couple of kids playing around and building a sand castle
We didn't talk much when we started walking so I tried breaking the ice
"Soo I don't think we got a proper introduction. Hi, I'm Jeff." I said
"Why hello there, I'm Debby." She said reaching out her hand for me to shake
I shook her hand and walked towards a bench for us to sit on
"So Debby, what brings you to California?"
"My dad had a work thing and he agreed on letting me and my friends come. What about you?"
"Ryan invited me."
"Ohh that's nice of him. How long have you guys been friends?"
"Not that long. Around 2 years? What about you guys?"
"Hm... We started being best friends since we were 6 so about 8 years?"
"Wow that's long... Hmm seems like we're the same age"
"Oh cool."
"Well we have at least 3 hours so what do you want to do?"
"I'm pretty hungry."
"That's great! There's a burger shack near us."
"Let's go then!"

Debby's POV
Jeff looked so hot today starting from his blonde hair up and looking all messy to his plain dark blue V-neck shirt, brown swim shorts, and black flip flops
I felt like I was a bit mean to him because I had a hard time trying to form sentences while we were talking
I'm actually pretty glad he agreed on taking me to buy food 'cuz whenever I eat, I get less nervous
