Chapter 8

Amber's POV

I remembered everything since I drowned

When I was in the water, drowning, I felt a hand grip my stomach and pull me out of the water

I coughed up some water and my vision became clearer. I saw a brown haired guy looking at me with his sparkling green eyes. I tried to move and forgot that my right leg still hurt.

I winced in pain and the guy came over and helped me soothe the pain

He was a cute guy a bit older than me I think. But not old as in twenties old.

I was staring in the sky, pinching my pointing finger with my thumb's fingernail. I still couldn't believe that I was alive that the guy saved me.

I was snapped from my stare when Charles started talking to me

I saw Charles's face the way his eyebrows were scrunched together and the look from his eyes showed how scared he was

"Hey... How are you doing?" He asked

I noticed a bit shakiness from his voice he tried to cover it up with a little cough

"I'm great! Drowning is just a weekly thing for me"

I tired to sound happy so that he won't worry

"Haha funny."

I giggled

"So what now?" I asked

"Why don't I take you to the infirmary to get that leg checked out."

"Where is it?"

"In the middle of the beach."

"Alright. Help me up."

"Uh no way princess. You're not walking with that foot."

"Then how do you expect me to go there?"

He carried me ,princess style

"Woahh." I said blushing a bit

His left arm was supporting my upper back and his left hand was holding my shoulder while his right arm was supporting the back of my knees and his right hand was holding my left knee

He held me close to his chest and started walking to the infirmary.

I felt his heartbeat race. I guess he was still scared

I started to drift away

I remembered how I felt when I was in the water, how I felt so lonely. How I wished that someone would come and rescue me and be my knight and shining armor. Then felt a hand grip my stomach and pull me.

I started shaking as I relived the incident in my head

Then i felt someone hold my hand and rubbed circles on the back of it

I blinked my eyes and noticed that I was in a bed and Charles was sitting in the chair beside my bed and was holding my hand.

This is the first time he held my hand and it somewhat felt right. You know like as if it was meant to hold my hand.

Debby's POV

We arrived at the burger shack

"So what do you want?" Jeff asked

"Umm what looks good?"

"I heard their cheese burger is delicious."

"Alright I'll have that then."

"Why don't I go order us the food while you go grab us a seat?"

"Ok."
