Chapter 12

Jeff's POV

I was a bit jealous when I heard her laugh loudly when she was talking with Ryan

I spent the whole afternoon with her and I've never heard her laugh that loud

Once they were finished talking, Ryan came over

"So how it's going?" He asked

"Nothing." I said sounding a bit harsh

"What's the prob, man?"

I said nothing

"Just tell me."

Then Charles came over

"Hey bro!" He said

He did our "bro hugs". You know the way that guys like clasp hands and hug. So we did that

"Hey. Look before we go rambling on how our afternoons went, i need you to tell me what's bothering you." Ryan told me

"Seriously man it's nothing!"

They gave me a look

"Alright fine! It's about Debby ok?! God!"

"Ok. Chill man." Charles said

"Yeah. It's not like we pressured you into telling us!" Ryan said a bit not caring

We laughed

"I hate you guys." I said pouting like a child

"Ok so if you hate us then that includes you not talking to us ok?"

"Fine."

"So Charles what happened on your "date"?" Ryan asked

"Well you know nothing much. We just went swimming and Amber drowned and a dude saved her and I brought her to the infirmary and here we are. You know I think that I'm going to take lessons on how to save someone's life. What do you think?" Charles said

"OH MY GOD! Amber drowned?!" I exclaimed

"Did you hear something, Charles?" Ryan asked

"Yeah it sounded like a guy who's sorry for snapping at us." Charles said

"Alright fine. I'm sorry for snapping at you guys. I had a bad day and I shouldn't take it out on you guys."

"We'll forgive you. If......" Ryan said

"If?" I asked

"If you ummm...." Ryan said

"Ooo! If you go and take the class with me!!" Charles exclaimed

"Class? What class?" I asked

"Saving someone's life." He said

"Alright fine. I'll go take the class with you."

"Ok so how'd Amber drown?" I asked

"She had cramps on her right leg." Charles answered

"Who's the guy that saved her?" Ryan asked

"Well I saved her from drowning but a guy named Alex gave her mouth to mouth and helped her soothe the pain from the cramps so I'm going with Alex."

"Do you like this Alex guy?" I asked

"I mean who is he really?" I added

"Look I just met the guy but he sounded nice and we exchanged numbers so that we could hang out or whatever."

"You didn't answer the first question." Ryan said

"Nice one dude."

"Alright fine. He's ok but when he gave her mouth to mouth, I don't know it was like as if I wanted to punch him."

"Any more?" Charles asked

"Nah I'm good." Ryan said

"Same here." I answered

"Alright Ryan's turn!" Charles exclaimed

"We went to the mall and bought food and bought smoothies and drove back here. When we got here we saw Jeff and Debby carrying firewood so I went over and helped Debby carry her pile."

"Is that really all that happened?" Charles asked

"Yeah. I took a sip of her smoothie and it was great guys! Who knew mango-banana was delicious?!" Ryan said

"Wait you guys like touched each others' straw?" I exclaimed

"Yeah what 'bout it?"

"That was like an indirect kiss!" Charles said

"OH MY GOD! No wonder she hesitated on drinking mine."

"Okay Jeff's turn!"

"Long story short, we ate burgers, walked, collected firewood, and walked back."

"Then why are you pissed at Debby?" Charles asked

"Oh that maybe because I didn't tell you guys that I sorta made a fool of myself when I apologized to her for wasting her afternoon."

"Oh harsh man." Ryan said

"Anyway what's done is done I guess."

"Now help me set this fire." I said

We tried and tried but couldn't do it

"Hey!" Amber said

"What are you guys doing?" Debby asked

"We're trying to set it on fire." Charles said

"Oo! Can we help?" Jade asked

"Are you guys sure you want to?" I asked

"Yeah. We just want to try." Jade said

"Okay be our guest." I said

We backed away so that the girls would have room to light the fire

To our amazement, they did it in like 3 minute flat

"How'd you guys do that?" Ryan exclaimed

"We were girl scouts when we were kids." Amber explained

"Okay. So why don't we shake things up tonight?" Jade asked

"How?" Charles asked

"Just follow me." Jade said

She arranged on where we'd seat and placed us with the people we didn't spend the afternoon with

We sat in a circle and the arrangements went like this: Debby, Charles, Jade, Me, Amber, and Ryan

We passed around the bag of marshmallows and sticks,I found.

We each grabbed a piece of marshmallow and heated it in the fire
