ROSÉ.The ceremony was just quick. No one bothers to come with her. And thanks heavens i flew early. I didn't missed when her name was called. I run to her before she could even make it to the stage.
The smile she gave feels like it was her first smile that day and the usual blank and empty eyes that she has are now painted with happiness. I patted myself for a job well done.
Since her foster parents didn't bother to congratulate or celebrate it with her, i asked my parents to cook something.
When we arrived, my parents even put up party poppers and some banners. We celebrated her graduation with a dinner.
"Do you have a firm to work to?" Dad asked.
Lisa smiled. "I would love to work on your firm, Uncle but..someone already hired my service."
"Who's the lucky one?" I asked.
"M Industries." She replied and all of us dropped our jaws.
I may not be into business but i've heard a lot about them. They are going global. They already conquered Asia and aiming for the Western Market.
"That's huge, Lisa."
"As much as i want to say i'm lucky to work there, it isn't the story. My biological family happened to be a Manoban."
I didn't know that. She never told me anything about meeting her real parents. Her smile is different as she talk about them with my family.
It wasn't a small smile or a dry smile. Not even forced. I examine her action as she talk. Her voice sounds like she's in between happy and sad that she finally met her real parents.
I can't read her mind. She's totally different from before. And she've changed a lot. From her appearance, to her actions and from the way she talks.
She wasn't the always sweet little Lisa. She wasn't the always bright and sunshine Lisa that i used to know.
"Earth to Rosie?"
"You okay?" I felt Lisa's hand on mine, stopping me from my thoughts.
"Oh yeah, i'm good." I answered them, smiling.
"Why don't we hear your new music before you release them out to the public?" Alice grinned.
"Why not? I think i saved them in my phone." I stood up and went to our amplifier connect my phone to it.
We let it become our background music as we continue our talkin the garden with wine in our hands.
It was 10 PM when my family left us alone. We already change our dresses into pajamas.
"So why it seems like you accepted your real family without any questions?" I asked.
"I'm just taking what's mine. My father gave me almost 40% of shares, larger than his children's shares. Apparently, among their children, i am the only one who has a degree. He added it was given a nod by the investors and board of directors, even the Chairwoman." She shared.
"I don't understand." I said, shaking my head.
"I'm planning to get all the people working there. The investors and the board are already on my side. The higher ups is already checked. Once i gained their trust and opinions, i will kick the Manobans one by one." She replied with a smirk.
"That's cruel."
"They are more cruel. They dispose someone at their convenient."
We're in a dim place but i could see her face grim. Her eyes could kill.
