Chapter 40

The next morning, Aaliyah woke up and looked around. She felt the pain from being cut open but at the same time she felt good. She hadn't gotten good sleep like that in weeks.

Dre came into the room.

"I need you to take Andrea to the hospital or something so they can check her out", Dre said.

"I had an appointment set up for her until everything happened. It was yesterday. I forgot", Aaliyah said.

"You were kidnapped and almost killed. It's easy to forget things", Dre said.

Aaliyah got up for the bed and almost fell over but she caught herself.

"You okay?", he asked.

"Yea. I just got up too fast", she said.

"How about I take Andrea", Dre said.

"No. I'll do it", Aaliyah said. "Was there a tracker"

"...no..not tracker", he said.

He didn't want to worry her more than she already was at the moment. So he decided to wait to tell her that she had a bomb inside out her.

As she got her balance back and walked out of the room.

Dre watched her until she left and began to think to himself.

After Aaliyah got ready and grabbed her things and walked you through door with Andrea.

"We'll be back", Aaliyah said as she opened the door.

"Okay", Adrienne replied.

Dre walked to Aaliyah.

"I can take her if you need me to", Dre said.

"I'll do it", Aaliyah said.

"Are you sure you can drive?", Dre asked.

"Yes. I'm sure", Aaliyah said as she walked passed him. "Bye"

Andrea and Aaliyah left.

Adrienne looked at Dre. She wanted to ask him about whether or not they were going back to Arizona. He kind of missed Jeremiah. But she decided not to because she could tell he had a lot on his mind.

"Adrienne let me ask you a question", Dre said.

"Okay", Adrienne said.

"I need your help looking after your mom", Dre said.

"What?", Adrienne asked.

"I know it sounds weird but just do it. If something is odd with her, let me know", Dre said.

"Is everything okay?", Adrienne said.

"Yea. Just let me know", Dre said.

Adrienne nods.

"Thank you", Dre replied.

After Andrea got screened, Aaliyah and her left the hospital. She didn't get any results back yet for any STI or STD but they did find out that she was pregnant, as Andrea suspected.

Aaliyah was worried about what Dre's reaction would be as she drove the car.

"...mom? You haven't said anything since the doctor told us that I was pregnant", Andrea said. "Are you upset that I don't want to get an abortion?"

"No. It's your decision and your body", Aaliyah said.

"So why do you seem disappointed?", Andrea asked.
