Chapter 6:

Percy's POV:

We arrived in the big house, only to find Chiron playing solitaire on the ping pong table. "Hey Chiron" I said, and he glanced up and pretty much immediately got worried since I was carrying Artemis.

"Is..." Chiron started

"I'm just tired" Artemis mumbled before trying to further burying her head into my chest, while Estella just curled herself into a ball and I'm pretty sure went to sleep.

"Long day" Chiron asked

"kinda, pretty much just slept from lunchtime till now" I said

"How's the hunt" Chiron asked

"Disbanded, the girls were extremely disappointed from the news" I said, giving him a warning glare as I technically told the truth, and we are in compliance with Zeus's orders, despite the girls still living with us. "Anyways I'm here to return a phone call, mind if I make it in your office" I asked

"That's fine Percy" he said, and I went to his office, only to lay Artemis down on the couch, and return the call that Chiron got earlier.

"Hello" came officer smith's voice from the other side of the line

"Hey officer smith, It's Percy. Mr. Brunner told me you called" I said

"Yes, a few new developments have occurred since last night. The drunk driver is in recovery from surgery and the DA is prosecuting for vehicular manslaughter while under the influence, carrying a 15 year maximum per count" she explained

"And you're telling me this because" I questioned

"We wanted to know if you would like to appear in court and make a statement of your mother's and step-father's character" she said

"Yeah I think I will avoid doing that, not sure if I will be able to keep good conduct being in the same room with whomever killed my parents, and little sister's parents" I said

"Understandable, next is since your sister is a minor, if the DA's office is to use her name in the case, pointing out that the defendant left her without her birth-parents, we would need yours or your wife's consent"

"if they think it will better the case, then fine. Though I can't imagine why the police would call just to update me on a court case"

"Well, as you and your sister are the last of your mother's kin, we also contacted the rest of your step-father's kin, and they would like to plan their funeral with you" officer smith said

"their funeral proceedings is within their will, so I'm presuming the reading of the will, will take place before then" I asked

"yes they said they would be arriving in tomorrow afternoon, and since you gave us this number to contact you the lawyer called us instead and told us to tell you that the reading will happen the morning after in their office. I'm assuming you know where that is" she asked

"Yeah I do. I'll be there, if you want to talk in person next time" I said

"alright" officer smith replied and hung up the phone.

"so are you tired girls hungry enough to get up to eat or am I going to have to go get you two food" I asked my sleeping sister, and nearly asleep wife.

The mention of food easily woke my sister, which was no surprise since she didn't want to eat at all day, and instead sleep with Artemis and myself. "Food sounds good" Artemis yawned standing up and somehow managing to not let Estella fall, and holding her upright.

"Impressed" she questioned

"a little now let's go get that food, before the campers eat it all" I said as we began jogging over to the dining pavilion.

Time skip : hey I brought you all past dinner, they had steak and fries if your wondering

We were just finishing up our dinner when Chiron started beating his hoof against the floor, which scared my sister, but got the attention of the campers. "Campers, as you can see Lady Artemis and Lord Percy have joined us for dinner tonight. Please give them a warm welcome or goodbye, as they haven't told me how long their stay will be" Chiron said, only to receive a glare from us because of the titles.

Many of the campers that we lead in the war all welcomed us back after having been gone for practically a year. After all of them welcomed us back we had a bunch of new campers come up to us and timidly greet us before running off. Finally there was Malcolm who just said a simple goodbye, and telling us good luck with whatever we got ourselves into while gesturing to my sister in Artemis's arms.

"she's his little sister Malcolm" Artemis called after him, sounding slightly annoyed. She turned to look at me, "I swear your nephew" she started

"my nephew he's your half-sister's child" I responded

"You're married to me, he's your nephew now" she said dismissively.

"ok but getting away from the family tree we should get back before the girls and Thalia destroy the palace" I said, and Artemis just realized we left them alone for two hours with Thalia.
