#13 Teamwork

It's been a couple of weeks for our heroes. You and Dawn have been hanging out more and snuggling up every now and then. You've pushed the team many times during training and during missions. Wally lost his speed for a day once but you were able to help him tap back into the speedforce, a story for another time maybe. You all went to raid the base of Black Mask when you returned from Gotham but it seemed that they moved before.

Now, you and Dawn were cuddling on the couch watching a movie until Kara popped up. It was a nice, calming experience just sitting and relaxing with no troubled. Yes there have been some crimes but they've been minor ones that can be done by one person. You were both under the blanket eating popcorn but then the bowl disappeared when you were about to take one.

"What the-?!" You looked around in confusion. The bowl that was once on your lap was now gone.
"Kara! Come out here now."
The blonde walked into the room all innocently while eating the bowl of popcorn.
"What's up?" She asked while still eating.
"You know what's up. That's our popcorn."
"Really? Sorry, didn't know." She then walked back out with the bowl and a smirk on her face.
"That girl." You muttered to yourself as you and Dawn turned back to the film before the crime alert went off.
"Raincheck?"
"Raincheck." She responded as you both got up and went over to the computer room.

There Donna and Wally were already on it, checking for what the emergency was. She was typing away as you seemed impressed by her developed computer skill.
"There's two locations that have been reported for gun fire. One by the docks and the other by Newlands memorial park." She explained when you all arrived in the room. 'She definitely stepped up as leader when I was gone.' you thought to yourself.
"Alright, we'll need to split into a team of three and a team of two. Team of two will go to the park and the others will head over to the docks. Dawn and I will go to the park. Sound good?" You crossed your arms.

"I can go with the others y/n, I don't need you looking out for me constantly. Especially like what you've been doing every mission." Dawn turned to you with a smile.
"I know but what if you get hurt, I will feel guilty for it. But fine, you go to the docks and Me and Donna will go to the park." You left the room without another word.
"Wow was it just me or did his tone change a bit?" Wally asked at the part when you left without concerning anyone else's view.

You were all in the armoury getting suited up for the mission and you walked over to Dawn once she was changed.
"Hey can we talk quickly."
"Sure what's up."
"It's just, I'm sorry if I'm overprotective but being with you makes me want to pull you closer and not lose you or see you get hurt." You explained.
"I feel the same way y/n. It's the whole point of a relationship." She said as she placed her hand on your cheek.
"What if this is making going on missions more difficult?"
"The relationship? Maybe but we can fight through it."
"Yeah, just promise to not worry for me anymore. It affects your performance in battle."
"No can do. We'll talk more when we get back ok?" She leaned on her toes to give you a quick peck on the lips.

You and Donna went into the garage to get in your car whereas Kara picked up Dawn and flew off to the docks with Wally racing behind.

"You and Dawn all good?" Donna asked as you started the engine and converted the car into armour mode.
"Yeah, let's just get this over and done with." You sighed as you raced out of the tower and towards the park.
"You sure, it sounded like you guys are getting a bit paranoid of each other getting hurt." Donna looked at you worryingly as you kept your eyes on the road.
"I don't know. Maybe you're right Donna. I know you guys can take care of yourselves since you all have powers and Dawn is an experienced fighter but I still worry that she'll get hurt. Maybe a relationship isn't the best thing right now." You thought out loud as you both arrived at the park.
