Louvina's POV

"Seriously Keke? He's my ride?" I deadpan looking towards Keke.

"Look, I didn't know who else to call okay" she tries to justify herself.

"Err just a reminder. I'm here" Adam cuts in but I completely ignore him.

"I'd rather walk home. Thanks though" I say and start walking away.

"Woah, woah, Lou wait. I know you're mad at me for some reason but just let me drop you off okay?"

For some reason? This guy was some type of human being

"Fine" I give in after pondering for a while.

Adam goes to open the door for me but I beat him to it and open it myself. Once we're both settled in, I wave goodbye to Keke who had the biggest smile ever on her face.
I just assumed it was because she knew I had a crush on Adam and I had to be with him in a confined space.

Not wanting to talk to Adam, I close my eyes and pretend to be asleep.
I hear a little bit of moving from his side and no matter how curious I am, I ignore it.

"Happy Birthday Lou" he says after a while.

"Mm" I hum in appreciation.

"Lou, I know you're mad at me but since today is your birthday, can we just forget about everything and just act normal?" He pleads

"Act normal? I am acting normal. I don't know what you're talking about." I say still with my eyes closed.

Adam sighs probably because he knew I wasn't going to let him off easily.

The car stops a while later and I eagerly open my eyes, expecting to see my driveway but no, instead I see the trail that leads to my secret haven.

I turn to look at Adam but he was no longer in the car. He opened my door and held out his hand for me to take which I did.

"Why are we here?" I ask.

"Lou we need to talk." He replies and holds out his hand for me to take. Talk, talk, talk, we're always talking.

I eye his hand warily for a minute before I take it and we start walking up the trail.

Right before we get to the top of the hill, my phone start buzzing continuously which makes me take my eyes off the trail to read the messages which were from Keke.
None of her texts made sense and if I hadn't know better, I would've thought she was trying to distract but what would she have to distract me from?

My frown deepens even more when I see her last message.

*look up*

I guess I didn't know better.

I did just that and I instantly lost my balance. Thankfully, Adam caught me and straightened me.

There was a blanket and a huge picnic basket and there were fairy lights hanging from the trees.
It was amazing.

I open my mouth to speak but Adam beats me to it.
