ABBEY'S POV
After the call with my mum, I had to call my boss and ask for a few days off to sort out a family emergency. I was in a plane the next morning because I really did not want to get on mum's bad side. I arrived in town the next day and after dropping my luggage at home, I went straight to the hospital.I didn't have enough courage to face anyone so I went straight to the NICU. It's funny how I didn't need the nurse to point out my nephew to me. I would notice those eyes anywhere. Adam's eyes and Mark's exact features. I smile.
"Abbey?" A voice calls out.

LOU'S POV
Once she turned and I confirmed that she was the one, I moved as fast as I could to hug her. It felt like centuries since I last saw her.I couldn't help the tears that started falling. Before she could pull away, I started saying the words I had rehearsed to say to her when she finally came back.
"Abbs, I'm so sorry I made things awkward between us. But I really don't regret anything with Adam he's a good person and I know he'll never do anything to hurt me and and-" I couldn't control my tears anymore."You don't need to say anything Lou. I was just being ridiculous about this whole thing. I thought I wanted to protect you from the Adam who would date a girl for a week and toss her out or the Adam who cared about nothing but to get into every girl's bed but I forgot he's also the Adam that I grew up with. The loving and caring Adam who wouldn't even hurt a fly.I forgot he's the same Adam I left you with all those years I ago when I left to study. I forgot that I put you in his care because he's always had a soft spot for you. I know he'll go to the very ends of the earth to get you whatever you want to make you happy. I forgot about that Adam but I remember him now and I know I have nothing to worry about " she says with her hand on my cheek and honestly, I can't help but hug her again, even tight that before. I would've done the same and more if I were in her place.
"But you know Adam wouldn't hurt a fly because they creep him out right?"
I ask and we both laugh as we go back to my room and Abbey tells me about her travel experiences over the past six months. We're still going through the pictures on her phone when a knock come from the door and in walks Adam. To my surprise, it's not as awkward as I thought it would be. Actually, he's smiling... at Abbey and she smiles right back.
He finally breaks the silence. " So I'm loving and caring huh?" He says with a smirk.
" You were listening?" I ask with a chuckle
" Of course he was. It's almost as if he senses it when someone says something good about him" Abbey chuckles.
She gets up and faces him. " It's good to have you back Abbs" Adam says and they hug.
"Now how about you give me a proper apology by buying some coffee for me""Apology? Puhleaseee. I just feel slightly bad for-" I watch them leave my room and listen to their voices fading away all the while falling asleep little by little.

A month later.
LOU'S POV
Today is James' Christening and everything is a mess. We're already late to the church because James wouldn't stop crying the whole night so Adam and I slept through our alarm. The only good thing now is he's calm now but who knows when he'll start again. We finally arrive at the church and mum's already outside waiting for us. " The priest has been asking about you for the past hour. Hurry and get inside " we rush into the church, trying to seem sane and organized and when we settle, the sermon begins.
*******
We were now at baby James' Christening party. All our friends and loved ones surrounded us.
"Lou" Abbey walks toward me. " Hey Abbs" I return the greeting." I'd like you to meet someone" she says and what is this hint of sheepishness I hear in her voice? Ouuu I squeal internally.
I've been so distracted that I only now realize the tall handsome man who had been around Abbey the whole party. "This is Dan" she introduces.
"Hi Dan" I say with the brightest smile ever. He smiles back "Hello Louvina. It's finally nice to meet you"
"Dan! My man. Why don't you tell me more about that business of yours" before I get to say anything else, my dad comes out of nowhere and steals him away.
I turn to Abbey. " You owe me a story time"
"I know I do" she chuckles and goes to save Dan from my dad's questioning.I look around me, appreciating the presence of everyone here. It truly felt nice to have people you knew you could count on.
"Hey baby mama" a voice whispers in my ear. "Hey you" I smile brightly at this man who I now call my husband.
"I love you Louvina"
"I love you Adam"*******************
Anddddddd scene! I'm so proud of all of them. *wipes tears*
