Louvina's POV
Two weeks later"Why did we have to come here again?" Abbey asks. As usual, she had dragged me to the mall for a "girls day" which in her dictionary, meant shopping, manicures and pedicures and even more shopping. And now, it was my turn to drag her to a shop. I needed something from here.
"Abbs I told you I have to get something" I reply.
"What thing?" She asks, narrowing her eyes at me. I can't help but roll my eyes.
I couldn't tell her. We have finally entered the month of June and Adam's birthday is next week. I have to get him a present. Not because of my crush or anything else but because we shared the same birthday month but mine was two weeks away from his."A present" I muttered under my breath and her eyes go wide immediately which means, she heard. Perfect. Just. Perfect.
"For Adam?" She asks but I can already tell she knows the answer so I just shrug.
"Hell no. Not happening" she says pulling me back.
I roll my eyes once again.
"Abbs, I know you have your rules, and I'm keeping them but I'm not going to go empty handed to his birthday celebration" I say.
"Wait, who even said you're going?" She asks with furrowed eyebrows.
"Adam invited me. He always does" I reply.
"But circumstances have changed!" she shouts.
I almost choke on my spit when I hear it. I think back to when Adam said it. In the same way. Was the universe trying to tell me something.
"I know but this is tradition and I'm not going to stop. I'll just be extra careful okay" I decided to add the last past to calm her down and from the way her shoulders relax, I can see it worked.
"Fine" she grumbles and I take her hand again and drag her into the store.
********************
"Ladies and gentlemen, we're gathered here today to celebrate the 25th birthday of our dearest asshole, Adam!!!!!" David shouts from in front of our table. We just finished eating the seven course meal. Well, I stopped at five but everyone else continued to the very end even though they didn't exactly empty their plates.
Adam had reserved the biggest table at
"Let's Eat Good", a Pan Asian
restaurant for his birthday celebration. He picked this place because it was usually empty so he wouldn't have to be conscious about his behaviour. I sat on his left side with Abbey by my side and Sapphire sat on his right side."Fuck you man" Adam flips his middle finger in David's direction.
"I love you too bro" David says with a hand on his heart. This makes everyone laugh. The whole group was here plus Amy's younger sister who was about my age or a little older but she wasn't very friendly so I just stuck with Abbey.
"Anyway, its time for the birthday song then the cake then presents!" David shouts again and squeals at the end in a girlish manner.
We all cheer. And one of the waiters brings the blue and white two tower cake that read "Happy birthday"
Adam wasn't a big fan of cake so that explains why his birthday cake was so... basic. We sing the birthday song and Adam blows out the candles after making his wish which weirdly enough he looked at me before making.
Now it was time to open gifts and I as well as everyone was excited to see his gifts including Adam himself.
