I ripped open the doors to the bar, striding through the halls like I had a demon on my back. Today wasn't a good day and the fact that I still hadn't been able to get in touch with my attorney about my future, really set me over the edge.
I made my way into the office, pulling the letter from the bottom drawer of my desk as I took a seat to read over their demands. My fathers' will was being investigated, his thirty year old ex-wife was filing for partial claims and everything I'd worked so hard to preserve, was no longer mine.
I threw the letter over the edge of my desk, propping my elbows up as I let my head fall right into my hands. How the fuck could this happen? After everything I'd put into this place, now I was being questioned about all of it. I slammed a fist onto my desk, my mind spinning at the thought of his ex wife acquiring everything that should be mine.
"Ty?" I heard a voice peer in.
I looked up to see who it was, straightening myself out so I wouldn't have any interrogations.
"Hey," Lacey continued, stepping into my office with barely anything on. I looked her up and down, realizing her outfit had lost almost all of it's...everything.
"Lacey," I acknowledged her.
She helped herself to my desk as I watched her legs spread over my papers.
"Well, I just wanted to thank you for hiring me back," She smiled, "I thought this was proper?"
I ran a hand over my face as I began flexing my arms to keep my mind from going exactly where she wanted it to.
"Your shift starts in ten minutes," I scolded, turning away, "Put something acceptable on."
I've been outwardly nice to Lacey in situations like this and then I've been a dick, but she never responds well to either. So I go in between, holding back what I really want to say and keeping my eyes on her long enough to make her feel like I care.
"You're on the bar upstairs, so no talking to the girls on the floor. I don't need any of you getting in a fight over something ridiculous," I ordered, reaching around for the letter I'd thrown to the floor.
Lacey threw her jacket on, clearly unfazed that I'd just rejected her and began primping in the glass of the fire hydrant.
"Too bad," She hummed, bending over so that her ass was full frontal, "And to think you could of had this tonight, maybe I'll just find some other lucky guy to do the favor."
I chuckled, I had to hand it to her...she wore vain quite well. If only I could meet a girl with half the sass of Lacey and the rest could all be fat for all I cared.
I watched her lips pucker up as her eyes began dropping farther down to my jeans, "Have anything to say for yourself?"
I flicked my head for the door, raising a brow at her attempt to sway me. I welcomed a chase, but when the prey became too easy, I was through.
"Have a good shift," I looked back to my computer, flipping through my emails as she began strutting back and forth.
"Whatever," She chewed, ripping open my door to leave.
I stood up, following behind her once I realized I should probably do my job tonight just in case a lawyer decided to show up and close me down. Lacey kept looking back with her usual turned up nose and each time, I sent her a wink just to mess with her.
"Don't come looking for me after work," She shot, pointing her finger in my face as we made our way into the main rooms.
I brushed my finger over her bottom lip, "Don't worry, sweetheart. I won't."
