"What's his deal?" I asked, watching Tyler stride away. All I could see from behind the counter were two toned shoulders, sitting upon a sculpted back that wasn't giving my mind enough satisfaction.

Was it possible to be turned on by someone from behind? Because the way Tyler walked was beyond confident, almost like he didn't have a care in the world about what people thought of him.

"Typical," Adrienne breathed, reaching out to collect money on the counter, "He's always kept to himself, but he's even bigger of a dick when he has a lot on his mind. You can tell something's obviously bugging him tonight."

I threw a few dishes into the wash, "What could he possibly have to be mad at when he's making so much money owning this thing?"

I couldn't imagine a guy like Tyler having issues, nonetheless, ones that made him come off so aggressive. Maybe he had family problems?

"It's difficult to run something you never wanted to own in the first place," Adrienne explained, plopping down on the stool behind the bar.

We'd closed for the night and after eight hours of standing on my feet, I was more then ready to head home. Who thought mixing drinks was this hard? At least the tips seemed to be worth the pain, Adrienne and I had cashed in on almost one hundred and fifty bucks each, more then enough to keep me coming back.

"He doesn't want to own this place?" I asked her, rubbing my hands on my forehead. I was so sweaty and tired that I'd forgotten what time it even was, but by the amount of sunlight that was beginning to make it's way through the window, I could tell it had to be close to five A.M.

Adrienne groaned, splitting up the cash we were going to take home, "Long story, he doesn't talk about it much but his father left a shit ton of debt in his name with this place after he died a few years ago. He was pretty much forced to turn this place around in a matter of weeks in order to pay of the debt, or he'd be slapped with one hell of a lawsuit."

My lips pursed, how did someone even deal with an issue like that at such a young age?

"I see," I responded, grabbing my half and stuffing it into my pocket, "So he turned it around I'm assuming?"

She shook her head, "For the most part, but it was also because of his friend. Alan, you know the one who introduced himself to you earlier? Well they decided to go into business together and in order to do that, Alan had to pay half the debt. Made the cut not so extravagant on Tyler's end and I guess he had quite a savings lined up that was able to pay off the rest."

Adrienne was giving me so much insight after only knowing me for such a short period of time, I was stunned she was just blabbing away Tyler's life history with such a mere question.

"How do you know about all of this?" I asked her, snatching my car keys up as she led me out the bar and into the hallways to leave.

"We used to be close," She giggled, her eyes lighting up, "If ya get what I mean."

Oh.

So they used to sleep together.

Was that it? Or did they actually date?

I figured I'd find out the rest of the story between the two of them in time, but right now I was just too tired to even care. We continued to walk down the length of the hallway towards the exit, suddenly stopping short of the stairs when Tyler broke open his office door.

"Kensie? Mind if we have a word?" Tyler spoke, his eyes even darker now then they had been earlier. His hair hung low and almost dipped into his eyes, the appearance he was giving off looked to be that he had one hell of a night. He turned, disappearing into his office as I swallowed down the lump forming in my throat.
