A ring.
A silver ring that shone from the spotlight that was hitting it. A ring with a single diamond in the middle. It was so simple, and yet the most beautiful object I've ever seen. A ring that made my eyes wide and my jaw drop.
I was speechless, as I was still trying to process what was happening. My heart pounded.
Adam took the ring from my shaking hands, and wiped it on his black jeans.
Then he knelt on one knee.

And he spoke the six words I won't ever forget.
"Mandy Bright, will you marry me?"
I couldn't speak. I've always imagined the person I love proposing to me ever since I was a child. I've always thought of the feeling as a casual sense of love. But I proved myself wrong. It wasn't just that. It was a feeling of a strange and unexplainable happiness that surged over me. A feeling of genuineness and natural joy. A feeling of smiling with no apparent reason. A feeling of nervousness and anxiety, mixed with joy and love. Like all my natural sources of happiness were put into one big ball. Like watching the sunrise, laughing with friends, getting an award, having strong wifi. Even the smallest things felt like they were all equivalent to what I was feeling now.
My hands shook and I felt myself glued to the floor. Tears suddenly rolled down from my eyes, with no control.
And finally, I found the voice to speak.
"Yes." I said and instantly, Niagara Falls flowed from my eyes.
"Yes?" Adam had a wide smile of disbelief and happiness.
"Yes." My voice grew stronger.
"Yes." I repeated, my smile as wide as my face.
I felt more braver. I kept repeating the word.
Adam instantly jumped up and raised me from the ground, giving me the biggest hug. I felt so happy in his arms.
People started to cheer wildly.
He set me down and placed his hands on my face.
"I love you so much." He smiled, breathing heavily.
"I love you too." I replied, trying to catch my breath.
He looked at me, smiling widely. His eyes and mine connected in a sense. I could feel his happiness. He could feel mine.
"I'm so happy." He hugged me again tight.
It was like all my pain, all my doubt, all those hurtful memories.... They all just vanished. I felt renewed. I felt alive.
"I love you so much Adam" I sobbed. I knew we already said that. But I just wanted to keep repeating it.
He looked at me with those blue eyes. Those blue eyes that started everything. The charm, The love, The pain, The story... Our story.
He kissed me with those freckled cherry lips that made me feel all sorts of things. Love, Danger, Sweetness, Pain, Confusion....
