"So you're telling me that you have a date with Charlie tomorrow night and that she told Sara and Sara blew up on you? This all happened last night when you got home?"
"Well technically, I asked Charlie out around 12 because we stayed up talking and Sara called me around 1:30."
"So things will be awkward today?"
"Yup, so be prepared," he said with a sigh while shaking his head. "I just don't understand why Sara is mad."
"Maybe its cause she likes you?"
"Don't even say that. I'm barely moving on."
He parked the car and I sighed while turning to face him.
"She's jealous man. She likes you and doesn't like the fact you're gonna go out with her best friend. Think about it."
"So. . . Should I go back to her?"
"Max. . . She knows how you feel yet she's flirted with guys in front of you, called your own cousin hot, and is upset because you're moving on but doesn't want to be with you at the same time. Knowing all this, you're still questioning if you should go back to her? No! She's a great friend but not when it comes to that. I love her and all but she just likes the attention. You deserve better."
He groaned and let his head fall onto the steering wheel, groaning again but from the pain. He mumbled to himself a bit which I knew he was just arguing with himself. We stayed in the car for another minute or so before he suddenly sat up and took a deep breath. He nodded once more to himself and finally came to a decision in his own head. I gave him a look as if to ask if he was good now to which he nodded and we finally got out the car. We went into the school and made our way to my locker. We never have to visit Max's locker because he never really needed it and if he does he just goes in the beginning of class because his teachers don't care or he goes during lunch. I wish my teachers didn't care but they did and demanded we have our books ready at the beginning of class.
"Shit, there they are," Max mumbled.
Sure enough, Sara and Charlie were standing on opposite sides of my locker, clearly not talking to each other. Sara was glaring at Max while Charlie looked annoyed at Sara. Relationship drama at its finest. I was just glad Victor and I-
What the hell?
Victor and Caden were down the hall, each having a girl wrapped around their arms. I expected Victor to take the girl off or at least slowly take her off but he only smirked and pulled her closer. They must've gotten here while Max and I spoke in the car. It hasn't been a day and he's already starting shit. They were slowly making their way down the hall while I quickly changed my books. Max was silently waiting for me to finish, ignoring Sara's glare. I couldn't help the jealousy that coursed through my veins when I glanced back at Victor and saw him whisper some shit in that girl's ear.
'Screw this,' I thought and slammed my locker door shut.
Okay yes, I can get a little extra at times. No one really paid any attention to me slamming my locker and simply ignored me. Max looked between shocked and confused though. Sara jumped, not expecting it and Charlie stepped back on instict as she was leaning her head on the side of the locker. I silently sent them an apology but when I took a glance towards Victor, he looked guilty and it seemed like he wanted to talk but I ignored him and began my walk away from him. This was just great. How could I actually expect him to change so quickly? Max must've sensed my anger because a second later he asked if I was okay. I only nodded my head and went into class, a silent and angry Sara following. Max stayed behind to talk to Charlie before she had to go to her class. He came in a second later with a smile on his face and I was glad that at least one, or well two, of us were happy. Sara was still glaring at Max while I had a serious face. The second Caden, Victor, and their friend showed up, I didn't dare look their way. Caden and their friend were laughing about something but I couldn't hear Victor laugh. He must've known he wasn't on my good list right now. We had about five minutes left before the bell would ring to start class but I wanted this class to be over already. I could hear Caden call Max's name but I guess Max ignored him because Caden called after him again. He continued his annoying calls until Max snapped and asked what he wanted. I couldn't help the glance as curiosity got the best of me but I made sure to not make direct eye contact with Victor. I saw as Caden glared to Max's, what used to be, smiling face as if to ask what he was so happy about. Max only rolled his eyes and went on his phone. A second later I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket so when I opened up the message I expected it to be from Max. However, I was wrong because the name on top clearly read Victor.
From: Victor
Let me explain please.Maybe I wanted to be dramatic or I was actually that hurt but I ignored the message. I instead turned to a still glaring Sara and tapped her shoulder. Her glare moved to me and for a second it looked like she was about to snap until she realize it was I who tapped her. She physically calmed down, her shoulders losing their tense form and instead started slouching a bit.
"Yes?"
"Where are your two friends?"
"Out for a field trip. They are in this club and today is a field trip day for them."
"Are you okay?"
She didn't get to respond since the teacher loudly spoke and what he said made me pray.
"Time for a new seating chart! Everyone stand up and go to the back of the roon!"
Oh God. I prayed that I wouldn't be sat next to Victor. Even if we got over our current problem, it would create a bigger problem of me being calm around him. I'd want to have simple touches that couple do and maybe even lay my head on his shoulder. That is if we make it through our current situation. Our teacher began to call out names starting with the tables in the front of the class Sara got moved to the front right beside the teachers desk. She was sadly in a table group that consisted of no one she knew. Her two friends were also separated, one being in the front but away from Sara and the other being in the middle. I began to panick when it was only a few girls left and of course, Caden, Max, Victor and I. Caden and Victor's friend was moved to the front since the teacher called him a 'disturbance.' Frankly, I think she should also put Caden in the front. I was surprised that he had made it to the back tables. I could physically feel my heart drop when everyone else was seated. I was glad I'd be in a table group with Max, but I hated that Caden and Victor would also be in my table group. Not even Max was happy since he released a quiet cuss word. The teacher not only chose the table groups we'd be in, but also chose our seating. Max sat in the seat right in front of me and Caden sat across from him. Victor sat right beside me and I already knew that this was a bad idea.
