Max and Hector stayed for another two hours before leaving. For one full hour Max and I were complaining about Caden and his friends going and for the next hour, we were yelling at each other while playing my gaming system. Hector would laugh at us but he wasn't that interested in the game. Instead he was reading while doing pushups. Who does that? And he called us weird.
"Boys! Its time for dinner!"
I put down my homework and walked out my bedroom door at the same time Caden came out of his door. He ignored my presence and continued on his way to the kitchen, me slowly following after him. He sat down at the table while I helped my mother set the plates and utensils. Daniel came out of his office a second later and helped my mother carry the food. We surprisingly began to eat in peace, thanks to Caden not speaking.
"So, you both are going on the school camping trip! How fun is that! Diego has been going since his freshman year with his friends. Poor Sara though, she never wants to go yet you boys drag her," my mother laughed and Daniel chuckled.
"I wanted to see what the fuss was all about," Caden mumbled and tossed a carrot aside on his plate.
"Well, Diego says it's always fun. What do you guys do?" My mother asked me.
"Uh, there's the hiking, swimming, campfire. This year though, the seniors camp base has the option of using row boats."
"Oh, how exciting!"
"How long are you guys gone for?" Daniel asked, taking a bite from his food.
"We leave Friday and come back late Sunday."
"Well, I think this is a great time to bond," my mother said and Daniel gave her cheek a kiss.
After dinner I helped my mother clean up while Caden ran to his room. Daniel tried to help but my mother insisted he go to his office to finish work so he'd be able to sleep at a good time. I helped my mother with the dishes to which she was beyond grateful for and I insisted she go rest. I was quick to finish washing the dishes so I'd be able to go to my room. I'm sure Max had sent me a million messages about how nervous he was for his date tomorrow. And I was correct. As soon as I checked my phone I had at least ten messages from Max. I had one message from Charlie and two messages from Victor. Of course, I couldn't resist to open his first.
From: Victor
Sunshine, I miss youFrom: Victor
Come over tomorrow? It was ridiculous how giddy he was able to make me feel. Truly ridiculous. The smile I had was so wide, it would put the Joker to shame.
To: Victor
Your place or my old place?I didn't have to wait more than two minutes for his replay which made my smile widen even more if that was even possible.
From: Victor
Come to mine, yeah? The parents called and said they'd be arriving Sunday, not tomorrow. Pick you up around 12?To: Victor
See you then!I couldn't wait for tomorrow. I was with him only a couple hours ago but I already wanted to see him. How do long distance couple work it out? I wanted Victor's arms around me already. To see his smile, hear his chuckle, and to have his full attention. After replying to the other messages I fell asleep with a smile on my face that night. I didn't dream of Victor that night but I dreamt of a zombie apocalypse instead and Max and I were hugging each other as zombies banged on the door to enter the room we were hiding in. I woke up as soon as the door slammed open. At least I now know Max and I wouldn't survive such a thing.
I woke up pretty late and had about two hours before Victor would arrive. I took a shower, got dressed, and ate some cereal. I just had a good hour left so I helped my mother with some easy chores. Caden was no where to be seen so I only imagined that he was out and about. That made it easier for Victor to pick me up which he did right on time. I had quickly said goodbye to my mother and left, quickly getting into the passenger seat. Victor's hand immediately grabbed a hold of mine as he drove back to his place. We rode in silence but it was comfortable and the atmosphere was calm. Music was playing through the stereo but it was on low level volume. When we finally arrived at his place he parked his car and we got out. No neighbors were out so that was good but we still hurried inside just in case. He opened the door and I closed it behind me. I didn't even process what was happening when he slammed me against the door and smashed his lips against mine. We were chest to chest and his hands slipped from my waist down to my butt, lifting me so my legs were wrapped around him and my back was firmly against the door. One of my hands was gripping the back of his head while the other was around his neck. His kisses trailed down my lips, down my jaw, to my neck where he placed more kisses. My hands gripped onto his shirt and I mentally begged myself to calm down. His kisses went up my jaw until they reached my ear.
"I missed you," he whispered and I could already imagine the smirk he had.
Oh screw him. He knew the affect he had on me. Its not my fault! He gave me another strong kiss before putting me down and letting me catch my breath. He too was breathing heavily but not as much. He grabbed my hand and led me to the living room where he had movies laid out on the coffee table.
"Pick one, I'll make popcorn."
All I could do was nod my head and he chuckled, kissing my cheek and walking to his kitchen. He had a lot of action movies which was completely fine with me since I loved action. I was okay with horror movies but I could not stand romantic movies. Not because of a manly stereotype but because I always got angry that my love life wasn't the same. No man or woman would stay with me and tell me our life story when we were younger if I got amnesia when I got older. I ended up picking the first Fast and Furious movie and when Victor came back and saw which movie I picked he chuckled and shook his head. He set the popcorn down and put the movie in. We sat comfortably on the couch, Victor throwing an arm over the back of the couch while I held the bowl of popcorn on my lap where he could easily grab some as well. We watched the movie in a comfortable silence, just enjoying the movie and each other's company. By the time we had finished the movie the bowl of popcorn was long ago finished and Victor had moved so his head was in my lap. I was playing with his hair and we sat in silence as the credits rolled. He looked up at me and I smiled down at him.
"Caden tell you we are going on the camping trip?"
"I heard about that."
Victor chuckled and closed his eyes saying, "He was curious as to what it was. But he didn't want to go alone so he dragged me and our friends along. Are all your friends going?"
"Yeah, its tradition for us," I said with a shrug.
"Who are you sharing a tent with?"
"I've always shared a tent with Max. Though Hector might join us this time since he'll be there and won't know anyone else."
"Hmm, not sure how I feel about that. He might hit on you, sunshine."
I smiled and shook my head, bending down and pecking his lips. He chuckled and gave me a full kiss before I was able to sit back up. His lips were soft and perfect.
"Caden is gonna be my tent mate. Though yesterday and this morning he's been real pissy so I don't know how to feel about that."
"I wouldn't know, I don't talk to him."
"I wonder why," he replied sarcastically. "Let's go take a nap. I'm in need of one."
I laughed but followed him to his bed and sure enough, we both fell asleep, his arm wrapped around my waist and pulling me close. I definitely was happy.
