Heros Need Help Too Part 1 of 3

That was it. Nobody else. No mum and dad. No Uncle Ben. Now no more Aunt May. Too soon. Too painful. Just too much. It broke Peter as a kid when he lost his parents so young. Hurting more was losing Ben as he filled the fatherly role for poor Pete for over a decade. The most painful being losing the last family member he ever had - May. It truly hurt to see May have cancer so harshly, but unfortunately, it was found too late to treat. All Pete could do is watch from the side as he did his best to care for her on top of his schoolwork and less frequent parol. Now, all Pete has left is nothing - in the sense of family. He never thought about finding a new place or how he was going to survive alone.

Even as May's beautiful but tiny funeral came and went, his time was running thin in the apartment. Most of what he was willing to sell was sold to pay rent for a while so he had somewhere to stay. Only the necessities of his stayed and a couple of boxes of May's special things that were too special to get rid of like her half-empty bottle of perfume and some prized family jewellery - alongside photo albums and her pillows and duvet. As sad as it may sound, Peter enjoyed sleeping with the things from her bed. It still had a faint smell of May and he felt like it kept her close in a strangely comforting way.

Peter decided that he needs some time to think. No better time and place to think than when you're in your spidey suit swinging from rooftop to rooftop. When he looked at it, he had barely gone out as Spidey since losing May. So that is what he did. The cool air rushing around him. The sounds of the cars down below. The adrenaline rush before he latches onto the next building. The new yet familiar feelings came as a relief to Pete and eased his mind perfectly.

Now. Where does he go from here? Mr Stark? No. That would be strange. Nat? Nope again. Clint? Well, it seems like a decent idea to him. They did say they wanted to adopt a kid at some point soon. Pete could always ask to stay with Clint and Laura for a couple of weeks - if they would let me of course. They could always see this as what it would be like to adopt a kid in a way. This idea would also mean he didn't have to sell any more of what he has left to have a roof over his head. He thinks he'll rent a small storage container for the last of his stuff so he can let the landlord rent out the property to someone else. Another bonus Peter thought of about this storage container is that it is cheap so he can live in it if he hasn't found a stable place to stay when he has to leave Clint's house - if he lets him stay that is. He'd have to find a job but he would worry about that after he has asked Clint.

So Pete continued swinging to the tower to talk to the father of three. It's a weekday. Clint was always found there weekdays and back at his farmhouse weekends. Clint does go and be with his family for extended amounts of time at points but you still had a good chance to find him at the tower. Swinging up to the top of the somewhat menacingly high tower, Peter started having doubts about asking to stay with Clint and his family. Would it be too much to ask? Is he overstepping boundaries? No, he isn't. He just remembered that Clint offered Peter a stay at his house for a week or two a short while ago. Perfect timing to redeem the offer Peter thought.

Once in the tower, Peter asked Friday where Clint was. Turns out, he was with Tony getting some new arrows that Stark had made him. Peter caught him just as he was leaving the lab with said arrows.

"Hey, kid. Thought you would be spending this weekend at your apartment."

"Decided to go out for a swing and remembered the offer you made to me a month ago. Can I take you up on it? Or if it's not the right time, don't worry about it. You don't have to let me, just tell me."
