TW: bullying - verbal and borderline physical (an uncomfortably hard grip on the wrist and nothing more) also talk of abandonment for a moment

>.<

No. No. NO! GO AWAY AND STOP BOTHERING ME YOU OVERGROWN FUNGAL INFECTION. Poor Peter couldn't even run away from Flash after school. Yes, he thought he ducked away from Flash's vicious antics when he went to his usual 'change into the suit™' alleyway - thankfully he was able to receive only a sharp tug at his jumper as he ducked past him as Flash was asking if it was where he lived. Now Pete was sprinting through the bustling streets of Queens trying to lose Flash on the way to the tower. He would have swung there, but again, no suit. Unfortunately for the suitless spider, Flash knew Peter would go through the busier streets AND go to the tower (as Flash had a good feeling that his poor victim would go there to keep up his supposed lies about any internship), so he took the slightly quicker, lesser-known route to the tower.

As Peter's jog slowed to a brisk walk as his spidey senses were lower than before - spoke too soon. They shot back up as he was about to open the door. The very door reflecting the shocked Peter and Flash tauntingly close behind him - thank heavens that they were on saloon hinges so he could just bolt in without moving any direction but forwards. Alas, Flash bolted towards the poor boy and caught him by the sleeve.

"Why are you here Penis? It's not like you can get any further in than this. You know as well as everybody else that your internship here is a lie. Just give up already. You wouldn't be able to pay them to keep up the lie for more than a minute due to how poor you are." Flash hissed all said out in nothing louder than a normal talking level, gripping onto Peter's wrist uncomfortably.

"Flash, please just let me go and I'll avoid you even more than I already do. Please." Peter pleaded in a low voice, trying to avoid any more conflict and odd glances, pulling Flash's hand off of his wrist.

"Let you go so you can do what you loathsome orphan? Pester the poor receptionists to let you just past the doors until I leave then leave yourself out of my sight? Nice try liar. No wonder your parents wanted to leave you so early." Peter started to hold back the urge to make a puree out of the person in front of him as he held back a couple of tears.

"HULK GO SMASH!"

What the two didn't know was that Bruce wanted help in his lab that day and decided to surprise Peter at the lift before he went up but wondered where he was as he never made it there. Once he decided he was bored with waiting, he went to the front to see if Peter was anywhere to be seen - that was then he heard (and saw) Flash tormenting one of the smartest people he knew. Bruce was then spending the next moments trying to stay calm so he could hopefully resolve anything without Hulk getting close and personal with a minor - unfortunately, he heard Flash comment about Peter's parents. Even if Peter was accepting of not having his bio parents around anymore, it doesn't mean that it doesn't hurt to hear that sort of stuff. Once Flash realised that the radioactive hero was bounding over at a terrifying pace right to him, he pushed Peter closer to the Hulk and finally lived up to his name and made off out of the building at a speed that started to compete with Quicksilver's record.

"NO! Hulk, please, don't smash." Somehow, Pete's words got the Hulk's attention and stopped him in his tracks.

"Peter not want him to stop?" As he said this, his head tilted to the side, cementing in the fact that it is a question.

"No thank you, Hulk. He looked scared enough to never come near me again."

"Spider sure? Spider wants hug?"

"Yes, I'm sure and a hug would be nice - as long as you don't crush me. Promise?"

"Promise."

Boundaries set, Hulk picked up Peter as if he was picking up a real human baby made of porcelain and cuddled him into his shoulder as Pete hugged back the best that he could. What neither of them remembered was that a Code Green was automatic for all areas of the tower and all Avengers available dashed into the (thankfully) nearly indestructible lobby to see a somewhat obscure view - Hulk and Peter hugging. No distress from the pair or watching eyes as everybody ran out when the Hulk shouted his signature line. Thankfully a hug is all that the Hulk needed to calm down again to turn back to Bruce. Once the scientist was back, he and Peter stayed like that for an extra couple of moments - just to enjoy the rare physical contact (as in things like hugs - they shake hands/high-five quite frequently and hug on rarer occasions like when they complete missions together or make a large science breakthrough and moments like now) they had together a little longer.

"Glad you're back Dr Banner and Mr Parker. Shall we escort you to your lab now for some science?"

Tony's voice broke the silence and ended the hug at a nice point for everybody. The duo hugging never realised the Avengers standing off to the side. Let us just say a good, hearty laugh was had all around as they all escorted them to the lab and let them be with their science stuff.

"Thank you for not telling them about Flash, Bruce."

"I had a feeling you might not want me to in fear of them killing the kid. Am I right?" Peter nodded and let out a chuckle as he looked down and rubbed the back of his neck. "Just promise me that you'll let me know if he bothers you again at all, ok? I have a feeling that he'll soil himself at the sight of me without the Hulk now." Another chuckle came from Peter as Bruce had one himself, silently noting the name 'Flash' to quietly let Tony know so he could have the bully blacklisted and permanently banned from the tower ever again.

The good news that came out of the drama is better in list form. The ugly vases in the reception had gotten smashed by mistake so some newer, prettier ones were put in with some of the brightest flowers you have ever seen in them. Flash never dared look in Peter's direction again and he scurried off every time he saw him at the other end of the corridor. Tony had gotten the pair some matching 'like two buff green beans in a pod' t-shirts - with a strange cartoon of two green beans with abs, large, muscly arms and the basic angry face cartoon face on one and a spider face on the other. But the best thing to come out of everything is that now the Hulk knew that Peter was a safe person to be around and vice versa. Peter protected the Hulk and the Hulk protected Peter. On occasions, when Hulk can't seem to calm down what-so-ever, he knows that Peter will try his best - be it by going out on patrol together or even sometimes, Peter's jokes were so funny, he'd laugh himself back to Bruce. No matter what happens, an unbreakable bond was made and Peter's bully situation was gone.
