TW: Talk of suicide but not in any level of detail - just like 'oh they saw something that said something with suicide in it that sounds like this other person' so nothing that (I hope) will trigger anyone - but still a warning to be safe.

*rawr* XD

Bored. That's what everybody at the tower was. Disinterested in everything and with no clue on what to do about the feeling cementing in everyone. Somehow the feeling was even borderline being felt by the AI installed. No missions. No lab experiments. Not even a code green from Bruce to help ease. Just lounging around in the common room together and nothing too much more. Peter wasn't with them as he was finishing up a couple of projects for school in his room so he has the full week off to do whatever.

"Fanfic." Loki came out of nowhere. All eyes were now on him. He was the only one with an idea after all.

"What are you talking about brother? I have no clue of what this 'fanfic' you talk of really is."

"I heard Peter talking about it to one of his friends whilst on facetime or something the other day. As far as I can tell it is something people have written about others and a lot of people upload it online."

"Good idea Reindeer Games. I'll go get my laptop. Friday. Whilst I'm gone, find some of the best websites to read this fanfic on."

"On it, Tin Can."

Tony muttered to himself as he was leaving to remind himself to change his nickname in the system again. After a while, all were in the same room once again, recommending things to each other as if it were an official book club. It was hard to find more than three of them on the same work at once. Recommend. Read. Research. Read. Repeat. That system went on for a couple of hours. That was until Wanda found one fanfic in particular with the subject of Peter (even though half of them have already been about him).

[A/N: Sorry for the sudden side note but all of the fics have been about Peter as Spider-Man with the Avengers as nobody knows his identity other than the people in the tower, his 2 friends and May. Each fic about Spidey Pete has a different name and interpretation of who/what he is like past the suit. Anyways, on with the story.]

"Hey, guys. Take a look at this one." Wanda announced to all in the room as she sent the link to it around the room for all to see.

What she had found had upset everyone. Tony. Loki. Nat. All of them. Said fanfic that she had found was about Spider-Man being depressed and not being able to take it anymore, thus deciding to stop with everything - including life by jumping from the top of the tower without a suit and web-shooters. Problem is, how it was written made everything so much more concerning. In said fanfic, the age was only a couple of years older than reality, the description wasn't perfect due to the writer assuming and using basic body types - but it was still too similar for comfort. The name too was quite similar in a way - Percy Parks. Silence filled the room after a couple of minutes as they all finished reading.

"Friday."

"Yes, Nat?"

"Wheres Peter and what's he doing?" To say you could cut the tension in the room with a knife would be an understatement - a chainsaw would only just start. Nobody dared move as Friday was pulling up Peter's location.

"He seems to be sitting on the roof with some form of a book at this moment in time."

Sudden movement waved through the room as they all got up running to go and get the spider child - at least make sure he was ok. Tony bound ahead by a fair amount somehow - even without a suit, he sure was fast compared to his trained/enhanced teammates and friends/family. Stairs were taken all around as there was no time waiting for lifts to get there and up. Anxiety levels rose with every passing second. Could the book be a notebook where he is writing his last message to everyone? No time to think - just got to get to the kid.

"Pete!"

At the sudden entrance of everybody onto the top of the Tower, Peter sprung up from sitting on the floor as his blanket and book written by Banner himself tumbled to the ground. To state that they scared Peter was the least that they could say. Peter's face relaxed as he realised who had managed to scare him.

"Oh, hey Mr Stark. And everyone else. What's up? Why does it look like you all have just had the most intense training session yet?" Poor Peter still didn't know what was going on as Tony approached him swiftly. "I-is this a hug?"

"Yes, it is. Never scare us like that again kiddo."

By this point, everybody had swarmed themselves around their favourite father/son duo with even more hugs than somebody would normally get in a week. Not a single soul wanted to let Peter be more than 2 foot away from them again.

"What's all of this for? What's gotten into everyone?" were the muffled questions coming from an increasingly squished and confused spider somewhere in the swarm of Avengers. They all reluctantly let go and stepped back to look at him. Nobody dared speak first. They had all let their minds and imagination get the better of them in a way but that work of fiction was just too convincing to ignore entirely. Wanda was the one who ended up explaining what had happened before all came charging to conclusions and hugs. It put in the ways best described, it did all sound silly.

"So no emergency then?"

Peter's statement sent over simultaneous waves of laughter and sighs as they all tried to tell him that he was important to them and it would be an emergency if he had felt that he couldn't talk to anyone about things like that to them. Even though Peter didn't feel at all sad, it definitely made him feel better knowing that he had so many people he knew for sure would listen to him if he ever had a problem. Finally, all was settled and quiet again on the roof after a couple of moments before a voice spoke up - it was Nat. What she said sent laughter to wave across everybody again as they all walked back inside.

"So, who's up for some Chinese?"

A/N:

As I have said in previous chapters (I think anyways - if not, here at least), I am here if you ever need to talk. I know it can be scary opening up to anyone - including strangers on the internet such as myself but I have no clue about anything relating to you and can't tell anyone you know about what we talk about because I don't really know you much - if you know what I'm trying to say. If you need to know more, I'm 19 (as of 24/09/21), from the UK and currently own over 70 Funko Pops (again, at this current date 24/09/21, is currently true).
