The Truth

That Sunday afternoon I was playing pretend fencing with one of the castle statues in the courtyard.
"Take that and that and that-"

"James, I need your help." Sofia told me.

"With what?" I inquired.

"I met the trolls today and turns out they are really nice." Sofia adds. I can't explain why and I don't how I believed her when she said that but for some reason I did.

"You went down to their cave and they didn't bonk you with their clubs?" I asked.

"Nope, they gave me one."
says Sofia and she showed it to me.

"But-but what about the story with King Gideon?" I questioned.

"It was all a big misunderstanding. Trolls never attacked the castle. They just wanted to see the stars. And they use their clubs to make music."

She tapped the ground and made some noise. I was delighted and excited.

"I want one." I stated.

"You can have this one," Sofia insists, "but first you have to help me show everyone in the castle trolls have always been our friends."

Acrobats were entering the castle.

"Baileywick why are the acrobats here?" I inquired of the castle steward.

"They're here to perform for you and the rest of the royal family after dinner."

"Ah, that gives me an idea, we'll have the trolls perform their music for Mom and Dad after dinner. Then everyone will see how fun they really are."

"Brilliant!" I responded.

"C'mon let's talk to them," urges Sofia.

"Right now?" I inquired.

"Yes, silly. We have to. It's almost dinnertime." spoke Sofia.

"Right coming."

"After dinner we'll come get you." said Sofia. "We'll just skip dessert."

"We're skipping dessert?" I sighed.

"We sneak you into the castle so that after all the performers have done their performances so you can play your music."

"I don't know," says Gnarly nervously unsure.

"It didn't go as well as we thought. Although James believed me and I knew my Mon would too Kings who have been ruling by rules set before them need a miracle to change their minds." Sofia responds to her guests chiming into the story.

"That includes our father unfortunately," says James. "We should have asked Baileywick to help us fix a wrong. He always knows how to do that and he knows when someone is always telling the truth or not."

"That's true." Sofia responds.

"Children it's time for dessert."

"We're full, Mom." Sofia and I replied to Miranda."

"Oh, I hope this works, I wouldn't like if I was denied the chance to see the stars for the rest of my life."

"Me either." I agreed with Sofia. I had to it was just such a harsh sentence with no base foundation fueling the belief that trolls were bad.

The last acrobat performed and we sent the trolls on stage.

But as soon as the curtains opened King Roland frowned.

"Trolls! How did trolls get into the castle." He said gruffly. "Guards."

"Oh no!" Sofia said as she watched helplessly. "I brought them in."
