rosa had left gina and iggy asleep in bed, she didn't want to leave them alone during the day because gina was definitely not ready for that, and rosa didn't particularly want to leave gina either.

the detective strolled into the bullpen to be greeted by amy saying, 'morning rosa,' she smiled, 'wait, rosa? why are you here?'

'is it gina?' boyle didn't even let rosa answer the first questions, 'is she okay?'

'she's fine. we're fine.' rosa grunted, 'i just need to see holt.' she said before knocking on the door of his office and walking in.

'detective diaz, how ar-' he stopped as he saw rosa close the blinds in his office. 'is something the matter diaz?'

'we lost the baby,' she mumbled.

'oh rosa, i am so sorry.' holt said in a slightly less robotic voice than usual.

'thanks... i don't really know why i came to tell you, i just thought you should know.'

'no, no, i am glad you did. you and gina can take as much time as you need. please let me know if you need anything.'

'thanks,' rosa replied bluntly. she was trying so hard to hold back the tears. 'i should go, iggy will be awake now.' she said as she got up opened the blinds again.

'of course detective. remember, things will get better and you and gina will both be stronger.'

'thanks captain,' she allowed herself to smile slightly before she left the office, walked through the bullpen and got into the elevator.

if it wasn't for the uniformed officer in the elevator with her, she would have been breaking down right now.
