the couple were now able to talk about their angel without getting too upset, of course they didn't like to think about it too much, but they had come to terms with it more, so they decided that they would return back to work.

they were outside the precinct in the car, rosa was about to get out but gina didn't look like she was gonna move.

'you sure you wanna do this? holt said we could have as long as we needed,' rosa asked

'no i do, i just don't wanna get reminded of angel'

'you know i'll be in there with you, if you need anything you can just come and tell me but we also don't have to go in if you're not ready.'

'nope, we're going in,' gina said as she got out the car and entered the precinct

rosa followed her and they both got into the elevator.

rosa held gina's hand, 'i'm so proud of you for doing this,' she told her.

gina turned to face rosa and kissed her pulling away just as the doors opened.

'gina? you look amazing. you sure you just had a baby?' boyle said as they entered the bullpen.

gina squeezed rosa's hand tighter as they made their way to holt's office.

'ah diaz, gina, good to see you both,' holt nodded at them as a signal to close the door and sit down. 'how are you both feeling?'

'we're doing okay, i feel better just being here,' rosa answered him.

'being at home for so long was boring, i'm actually glad to be back,' gina continued

'that is very good to hear, i am very glad you are both back at work.'

all three of them could very clearly hear the commotion that the couple had caused in the bullpen.

'i guess you should both be getting back to work, but if you need anything, my door is always open, metaphorically of course.'

'thanks captain,' gina said as they got up from their seats and rosa nodded at him.

'have you told the squad yet?'

rosa squeezed gina's hand, 'no, we're gonna do it now.'

'of course, if you think you are ready,' holt replied smiling slightly.

the couple stepped out into the bullpen and closed the door to holt's office.

'mkay listen up dummies,' rosa said to get their attention

they all turned to face rosa and gina

'what's going on? did something happen?' amy said as the rest of the squad stood there confused

'you wanna tell them or me?' rosa asked gina quietly

'you.'

rosa took a deep breath in. 'okay here goes... our baby-'

'who we decided to call angel,' gina interrupted

the squad's faces lit up, 'aww angel, that's cute,' amy said

'we're not done,' rosa barked. the squad's faces returned to normal as rosa continued, 'we lost our baby.'

everyone's faces dropped.

'wha- like... like,' amy tried to ask

'yes, like gone. that's why we call them angel, they're our angel baby,' rosa felt gina's hand squeezing her own and she turned to her wife. 'you okay?'

gina smiled at her, not wanting to speak incase she cried.

nobody really knew what to say, until jake eventually broke the silence.

'a- are you guys okay? i mean probably not, stupid question,' he awkwardly laughed.

'we're getting there, we'll be okay,' rosa looked over at gina again and let a smile creep onto her face

'do you think you're ready to be back? do you need anything? just let us know if you do a-' amy was interrupted by rosa

'we're fine, we don't need anything, you can all get back to work,' rosa snapped harshly. 'we just felt like we had to tell you,' she continued.

the rest of the day was awkward, rosa and gina felt out of place but at the centre of attention at the same time.

rosa felt like breaking down a lot of the day, but she knew she had to stay strong for gina.
